I've owned this car since 1988. I'm regrettably selling because my lifestyle no longer enables me to get the most out of this car.
its been dry stored for the best part of 20 years
just had a new battery and starter motor
extensively rebuilt - new floors. sills. A posts. flitches. doors. rear panels. rear inner arches. all standard stuff for mk 1 Renault 5 s.
engine has never had any major work and starts and runs perfectly and even when in use as my everyday car was actually quite reliable. I always changed oil at half the recommended distance and used a semi synth.
gearbox is a turbo unit from a later car.
suspension is bilstein gas shocks and g 5 turbo front torsion bars. and g 5 turbo anti roll bars front and back.
exhaust is a g 5 turbo with a mod at the front and the back pipe exiting on the left not the right.
performance air filter- I have the original if the new owner wishes to return to standard.
showroom fitted britax roll back sunroof.
front seats are recaro from a capri from the same period. I do not have the original Renault ones. although not authentic they are a huge improvement. although there is a hole in the drivers side squab where all recaros wear out.
the paint could do with being rubbed down and resprayed to get a better shine. when it was painted in the 90 s some parts worked out better than others.
the only area of issue with the body is the rear panel behind the back bumper which could do with being replaced the original has been welded to get through a previous MOT but is not up to the standard of the rest of the car. I will include a replacement chopped from another car.
