Citroen 2cv Dolly FULLY RESTORED full MOT

This Citroen 2 cv Dolly has been lovingly rebuilt to a very high standard with excellent attention to detail. The Dolly will provide an excellent everyday classic car. or show car. which is economical and fun to drive.

The Dolly is a 1988 F registered model. with only 2 loving previous owners. in the colours of fresh white and vibrant red. with a black pin stripe interior and red fabric hood. The Dolly comes with a V 5 C registration document. a full 12 months MOT and full 12 months tax.

Many hours have been spent rebuilding the Dolly sympathetically to a very high standard. I have rebuilt many 2 cvs (and other classic cars). the previous 2 cvs have gone to very satisfied 2 cv lovers. I've enjoyed. and taken pride in. rebuilding it and it will give me further enjoyment to see it used. loved and cared for.

I am sure this Dolly will provide joy to the new owner. just like my 2 cvs have done for me over the past 26 years.

Structure

The body has been taken off the chassis and welded in places. All welding has been dressed and sealed.

All underneath welding has been protected with a thick covering of underseal. providing all-year round protection.

Oil has been injected into the sills and other cavities.

It has a replacement chassis. which is in excellent condition and protected with underseal.

Body

It has been primed and then sprayed in 2 pack paint to give an excellent finish. very high gloss. durable and smooth.

The indicators have been moved from the wings. maintaining the classic wing curves. and discretely placed on the side valance.

The mirrors have new silicon surrounds.

The number plates are in durable pressed aluminium.

Hood

The red hood is new. The material is of a durable quality fabric type. and has been fitted with a new heated rear window.

Mechanics

The Dolly starts on the first flick of the key. A new ignition set has been fitted. along with a new coil and a new Bosch battery.

The mileage is 66 k miles.

The clutch is new. with a new bearing and backing plate.

The engine cylinder head seals are new.

The suspension and brakes have been overhauled.

The fuel piping has been replaced. with a fuel filter added.

All additional wiring is tidy. and fully fused.

The oil cooler has been cleaned.

All mechanical parts have been cleaned. painted and checked. and replaced if needed. It has been fully serviced.

The 5 tyres are new. with reconditioned wheels and painted with white rims.

Both king pins are new.

The front wheel tracking has been set.

All screws. nuts and bolts have been cleaned and waxoyled on re-assembly.

Included is a 2 cv user manual. two sets of keys and a workshop manual. together with the V 5 C registration document and MOT document.

Interior

The seats have been reupholstered. and are in good quality black pin stripe material.

Headrests have been fitted to the front seats. also in the matching pin stripe material.

The sun visors are of the matching pin stripe material.

The door panels have been re-covered.

There are additional window stays for the front windows.

New carpet has been fitted in the front. back. and rear luggage space of the car. There is a spare wheel cover in the rear. and the rear luggage area has been lined for protection.

There is a set of new mats.

Securon 3 point lap and diagonal automatic seatbelts have been fitted in the rear of the car (to replace the standard lap belts). The anchor points for the belts have had additional thick plates welded and there a strong support bracket fitted at the rear of the seat.

The steering wheel is padded in black leather style material.

There is an additional green indicator light and blue main beam tell-tail lights (to help with newer MOT regulations). as well as a red flashing light on the dashboard providing a visual security deterrent.

There is a courtesy light. a clock. and a small 2 cv model in the same colours. within the interior.

A good quality JVC Radio and CD music system is fitted. with 2 new front Kenwood speakers neatly fitted into the bulk head. There is a new inside windscreen mounted aerial fitted. The system is of ‘face-off' style which can be removed for security.

There is a 12 v socket which can be used for a Sat Nav or phone charger.

Other additional features

There has been a rear centre brake light fitted which can be seen through the rear window.

It has a fan painted in the French colours.

The windscreen wipers have been reversed so that they now park on the passenger side. rather than the original driver's side. to avoid any issues during MOT.

An automatic reverse light has been fitted.

There will be a full tank of petrol when collected.

Myself

I have grown up with 2 cvs. with my father having one. and I'm a Citroen Mehari and 2 cv enthusiast. and have been in the 2 CVGB for many years. I have rebuilt many Citroens in the past and won awards for them. and have owned a Mehari for 26 years. still having my orange Mehari which was my first car. I'm passionate about the 2 cv and get excited when I see one on the road. this is part of my motivation to restore 2 cvs – to keep them on the road. and for people to enjoy driving and seeing them.

General information

All parts are available in England via 2 cv City or ECAS. The road tax is low. as is insurance.

The running costs are low with a high return of miles per gallon. of normal unleaded petrol. from its reliable air cooled 602 cc flat twin engine.

The value of 2 cvs are continuing to rise. so this will provide a sound investment.

There is an active 2 cv club (2 cv GB) which holds many events. and can provide useful information on the 2 cv.

The Dolly is located near Lincoln. please feel free to arrange a viewing and test drive before purchasing.

I may be able to help during collection of the Dolly by collecting you from the train station or airport. Alternatively. I can help arrange collection using a professional car transporter business.
