ORIGINALLY FROM CALIFORNIA. THIS NEVER RUSTY GREAT  CAR WAS CUSTOMIZED SOME YEARS AGO. AND IS STILL IN VERY NICE USE ABLE CONDITION. THE STORY IS. IT WAS A PROTOTYPE FOR THE GLASS ROOF SKYLINER BUT THAT INFORMATION IS NOT VERIFIED. HOWEVER THE GLASS ROOF IS BY IT'S APPEARANCE. QUALITY. AND CONDITION APPEARS TO BE FACTORY BUILT.

THE ORIGINAL ENGINE WAS REMOVED. AND A CHEVROLET 283 V/8 (CORVETTE) WAS INSTALLED. THE ENGINE HAS AN OFFENHAUSER INTAKE MANIFOLD. WITH THREE GM ROCHESTER 2 JET CARBURETORS. AND CHROME AIR CLEANERS. THE 6 VOLT SYSTEM WAS CHANGED TO A 12 VOLT SYSTEM WITH AN ALTERNATOR. THEY INSTALLED AN ADDITIONAL ELECTRIC FAN FOR PARADE COOLING BUT IT IS NOT NEEDED.

THE CAR RUNS WELL AND HAS THE ALUMINUM BODIED POWERGLIDE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHICH WE ALL KNOW TO BE AN EXCELLENT PERFORMER. PAINT JOB IS VERY NICE WITH NO CHIPS OR SCRATCHES. AND ALL OF THE CHROME IS VERY GOOD. BUT NOT SHOW QUALITY.

I had a conversation today with a gentleman named Wayne who informs me that this was his car back in the 70's when he lived in Keene Texas. He indicated that he was the one who installed the skyliner top from a 1954 car. and that the car was then as it is now in absolutely  rust free condition with a perfect body. It has been cared for and babied all this while by caring car collectors.
