1971 Triumph TR6

Built on 8th June. 1971 and supplied three days later to F.
Guyver Ltd at Stratford upon Avon (the original dealership brass
sill plates once fitted to the car have been retained in the
history wallet). we believe that CWD 755J could potentially be one
of the lowest mileage TR6's in the UK today at just 5. 77 miles.
The earliest paperwork in the substantial history file
(approximately 150 documents including a British Motor Industry
Heritage Trust Certificate) dates back to May. 1979 for a
replacement overdrive manual gearbox. The first documenting of the
mileage is on the 1981 MoT test certificate recording the mileage
at just 2. 52. The history tells us that the car was tested when
taken off the road soon after the previous owner of 24 years
purchased the car. The 1988 MoT test certificate shows mileage at
2. 68. Once fully restored (at some considerable expense at the
time) the next certificate retained in the file from 1993 records
the mileage at 3. 52 miles. With a fair number of other
certificates in between. they detail the mileage at 4. 90 with just
a further 687 miles being added in the last 13 years.

The restoration work has lasted well thanks to a well-ventilated
covered warehouse storage. and there are no obvious signs of
corrosion on the car with all vulnerable areas looking to be in
excellent structural order. In the main. the paint has retained a
deep lustre and the interior looks very smart with original
un-restored seats and a period wood rimmed steering wheel. setting
off nicely the deep wood veneer dashboard (itself appearing
original and in excellent condition). Tyres are matching Firestone
Firehawks on immaculate 15" wheels. The soft-top is in good order
and the car comes with both the hood stow cover and a fabric
tonneau. The car is taxed. supplied with an MoT test certificate
and drives without any known faults. Power is strong and
transmission is crisp. The engine note has been described as very
satisfying through the tailored stainless steel system. A highly
attractive and well-kept example of the marque.
