Iconic 1987 Mercedes Benz 560 SL. Black exterior and hardtop. Grey leather interior. Rare find at a great price! Trade in from the Mercedes Store. rare car that looks to have been garaged for most of its life.

Body and paint: Overall very good condition for the year. Body lines look straight and crisp. Black paint has a deep shine. In my opinion paint looks to be original. I did not see any evidence of a respray or accidents. I took several pics of the exterior in different light so you could get an idea of the paint quality. There are a few scratches and chips. I took pics of the ones I saw. Few little scatches around where hardtop fastens(I took pics). Hard Top looks in very good shape. paint matches perfect and the brightwork(chrome) is in good shape. Soft top has been replaced and is in very nice shape. fabric looks good. plastic windows are clear.

Interior: Grey leather. still has held up well over the years. Both seats still in great shape. dash looks very good. Carpet still in good shape but showing a little age. Woodgrain center console has some scrathches. but could be refinished. Door panels still looks good. Factory installed radar detector(old school). Has aftermarket radio and speakers that work and sound great. Power antenna still works great. but is missing the gromet around the outside(took pics). Trunk area has a CD player. carpet looks good back there. but smells a tad musty. Overall great driver quality interior 7 outof 10. Could easily be perfect with a little work if you desire.

Mechanical: Just had new plugs and oil change done within the last month. She starts up great. no smoke. No weird noises or gremlins that I can hear. Fuel pump looks to be pretty new. Michelin tires are almost brand new. Motor revs good. transmission shifts smoothly. Some of the steering componets look new. shocks look recent. Only real negative I see is the rear portion of the exhaust is showing its age. Mainly muffler it has a few small holes in it and will need to be replaced at some point. Driving the 560 SL is a joy! Steering is tight. cruises easliy at 80-90 mph on the highway. Great drivers car!

Odometer:

When we got this car on trade and broght it back to the dealership. I noticed the speedometer worked but the odometer did not. After further inspection the odometer gear was broken. which we have since had repaired. This is a very common issue with these years Mercedes. but because of this we can't certify the mileage on this car. So it will be sold True Miles Unknown(TMU)

Overall: Very solid and honest example of the iconic Mercedes 560 SL. Great drivers quality Mercedes you can take out and enjoy in any weather(hardtop and softop). Looks nice and runs good. but not so perfect you cant drive to Starbucks for fear of a rainstorm! Drive anywhere and look good doing it. Feel free to come look at the car and drive it before you bid. This car is a 1987 so please be realistic. I'm not asking $18000 for this car so please dont expect perfection. This is a bargain deal on this car for how nice it is.
