These W 126 Diesels are the last of the "million mile" Benzes. This car may have seen a lot of miles but it is completely without excuses mechanically. and needs very few excuses cosmetically. as the pictures attest.
It comes with all service records from 1988. when it had 99 K on the clock.
One of those receipts is from the local MB dealer from when they installed a new factory engine to the tune of $10 K+.
This was at 202 K miles.
It has a new battery. a
recent
radiator and
tires and all rubber bits are fresh. hoses. (including oil cooler hoses) mounts. belts. etc.
The Centra wheels are 15". light. wide and easy to clean. they grow on you quickly.
The climate control works fine. cold A/C or good heat. whichever is required. is all taken care of automatically.
The drive shaft has been completely refurbished recently. the brakes all around are about a year old. the list goes on. It has always had any maintenance and repairs needed done in a timely and thorough manner.
Oil changes have been regular. using only OEM filters.
And it gets 25+ MPG in the winter. 22 or 23 in the summer.
The only things that don't work are the clock. unusual in a Benz. and the power antenna doesn't go down. Everything else works fine. But enough of the mundane. this S-class is a delight to drive.
Comfortable. quiet. stylish even still and dead reliable. it starts instantly even below freezing. yes that actually does happen here in Southern Arizona. and if the new owner lives in a much colder climate it has a block heater. This is a car that one can just get in and go. no matter how far. if there is a road to it. it will go there. without excuses. I really hate to sell it. but circumstances are such that I have no choice.
