This listing is for a newly imported '56 Ford C750 COE (cabover engine) truck. which could easily be made into a hot rod hauler with little effort or could be fully rodded amd modified. just check google images for ideas for what you can do with a COE. These are getting harder to find in the states and due to the size. transport to the docks is costly. so grab one while you can.

Okay. I'm beginning to realise that many people don't read the full listing so. to save the questions: NO PART EX OF ANY DESCRIPTION. DO NOT EVEN ASK. I WILL NO LONGER REPLY. NO SWAPS STRAIGHT SALE ONLY.

This rare truck was imported by us in April and is in pretty good condition for a 58 year old working lorry. It starts first turn of the key. the big V8 petrol engine sounding great. no noises or rattles from it. Clutch works great. feels strong and all five gears plus reverse work as they should. The 2 speed rear axle also works a treat giving 10 forward gears. It steers fine too. handbrake is working well. but footbrake needs to be pumped a couple of times to work. We haven't had it in the 'shop to go through it. and we feel that we don't want to spend much time or money on it as the last COE we had was bought to be rodded and all the running gear would be changed so no point in wasting money if rodding is your intended route.

The tipper works fine. I need to add some fluid as it only goes up so far as there isn't enough oil in the resrvoir. You will see in the pics that the side raves have been cut off both sides of the flatbed. That was to make it fit inside a container. we will have those welded back on shortly. If you wanted to use this as a car carrier. the tipper could be very handy when couple with a pair of long ramps. There is some sheet metal on top of the original wood floor. no doubt to easy load transfer when tipping. The wood looks okay underneath from what I can see and so I'll likely remove the sheet metal as it's a bit bent.

Some of the lights work. the wipers are electric and do work. horn works. as does the old radio! Seat is complete but has splits in the cover so will need re-covered or a mexican blanket flung over it. All glass is cracked but is easy to get as it is exactly the same as the '56 F100 half ton pickup. Other than the screen it is flat glass so you could even get that lot cut locally.

The cab floors will need patched as seen in the pics. not a dificult job. and other than that it's solid with a few dents here and there.

The big west coast style mirrors are there and were removed for transport. Probably best left off for onward transport but will obviously be included.

So. to summarise. we have an original old COE truck that could be either restored or rodded. It runs and drives as it should. stops with a bit of pedal pumping. park brake works. and it's basically all there. Hard to find now. dificult and expensive to transport in the states. hard to fit in a container. so take this one while you can. I have applied for the registration number. it should be here very soon. The truck is tax and MOT exempt. and these heavier trucks have always been like that when manufactured before 1960. They were MOT exempt way before the pre '60 cars and light commercials were. As it is MOT exempt. it can be driven on a car licence regardless of when you passed your test. It will also be easy to downrate if you decided to do that. just a paperwork exercise.

Payment is by cash on collection. or by wire transfer if you want it delivered. I have no idea of a delivery cost for a bigger truck like this and I suggest you try somebody like Beamish Transport from County Durham as I'm told they are very professional and reasonably priced.

I don't need any trade ins. as I have plenty of vehicles to sell as it is. thanks for your understanding.

Although we are based in Central Scotland. please do not let this be an issue for you as I pride myself on my descriptions and must add that on my other accounts and via magazines. I have never ever failed to sell a car to the first person who travels to see it! If you know what you are looking for. and do decide to come and see. I can assure you the car will be as described here. There is no point in me telling lies about a car. as. quite simply. when you come and see it. you will not buy it if it's not as described. so. a big waste of time for me and a waste of time and money for you. I have no wish to deceive any potential buyer. I've been on the receiving end of that in the past. travelling many hundreds of miles to see something very much different from what was described to me. I aim to change that as a business seller. I'd rather gain a new friend and not sell you a car than sell you something and make a new enemy!! I am an enthusiast first and business man second.

If you want to come and look. I can pick you up at Edinburgh Airport. or Linlithgow or Falkirk rail stations and return you after your visit. I can arrange delivery for you at your cost.

Contact us through ebay. our own website www. rocknrollmotors. co. uk. or e-mail horn. chevy@blueyonder. co. uk or jim@rocknrollmotors. co. uk  or phone on 07593 187939 or my home number (though I'm never in!) is 01506 822878. Thanks for looking and please don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Payment terms are as follows: cash on collection. bank wire transfer before car leaves here. or cleared cheque. before car leaves here. NO PAYPAL on this.

Sorry to do this folks. but I must add a note here for people who may not think some things through properly. I cannot and will not take a swap on anything. To explain. you want to swap me something. therefore yours is available for sale here in the UK. Why would I go to the bother of buying a vehicle unseen in the USA. take the chance that the seller may rip me off. spend money shipping it. unload the container. pay all the duties. VAT. etc. then simply swap it for something I could have bought here without going to all that bother. not to mention my money being tied up for at least three months awaiting the arrival. This is a business. you go to work to earn your wages so you can eat. etc. I sell imports to do the same. Swaps do not put food on the table. I hope all reading understand where I'm coming from with this. I keep my prices tight so can't pay over the odds for a trade in either. remember I'm the dealer. I can't drop my price to break even then pay you retail for a trade in. no vehicle sales business will ever do that. it's financial suicide. If you want to give me a trade in. I will talk to you. BUT. my price is firm in that case and your trade must be of a cost that I can make something on it too. I also wont take a trade of something I can't sell. 'cause if you've been trying to sell it and can't. then I can't either. simple really. I prefer to deal on a straight sale basis. I write this as I am getting fed up with many e-mail and phone conversations. followed by sending lots of pics. etc to interested parties. only to find that after a few days of time wasting. all they really want to do is swap me for something of lower value or something they have had no luck trying to sell. Don't get me wrong. if after a few days of talks and pics. you decide my vehicle isn't for you. that's no problem. that's not time wasting (as long as you didn't tell me it was definitely for you then change your mind!). Many thanks for reading and understanding.
