1976 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 450SL 17,000 original miles!

Up for sale is this amazing 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Convertible. This 450SL is immaculate and has a Brilliant Red Metallic exterior with Light Shale MB-Tex interior. The seats are clean and look like great. This Mercedes just turned 17k miles and it runs and drives fantastically. This is a really nice low mile car and no doubt the cleanest R107 SL on eBay. This vehicle is all original and has never been in any accidents or to the best of my knowledge, had any paint work done. This car is 100% original in my opinion.This vehicle needs nothing but a new caring owner and a new home. The previous owner never smoked in this car and it was always meticulously maintained and stored in a heated garage with a car cover over it. I still have the car cover and its included with the sale.I purchased the vehicle earlier this year from the daughter of the original owner. This vehicle has been with the same family since it was purchased new. The car was always stored in a climate controlled environment and you can tell this because you will not find a spec of rust, even surface rust, on this vehicle. It looks like it rolled off the showroom floor yesterday. Everything underneath looks like new. The previous owners family told me the car had only been washed a few times. They would take the vehicle out for a short drive, and put it back into the garage, dust it off, and under a car cover it went. The convertible top was always down on the car, he never had the top up at all. He never drove the car in cold or wet weather, so he never used it. Up until I purchased it, this was the first time since 1976 that the hardtop had been installed on the vehicle. The hardtop sat in the attic for 45 years under a tarp.Upon inspecting the vehicle, I learned that even the radio and the power antenna are original to the vehicle. I also learned that all the rubber seals and weather stripping are also original and have date codes on them. The convertible top is also original and can be verified by its proper "Wopavin" markings on the rear glass. In the trunk, you will find the original Michelin spare tire, its never been mounted. You will also find the original Jack and the complete tool kit. All the glass on the vehicle is original and has the Mercedes logos on every piece. All the proper stickers and tags are present on this vehicle. Even the valve stem caps on the wheels are original. Its just unbelievable! If you look closely, you will see that the car still has its original Bosch aluminum wiper arms! These were always thrown away after the first wiper change and cant be ordered anymore. All the features on the vehicle are working to the best of my knowledge. Even the clock works and keeps pinpoint accurate time and they never work!!!We have the original documentation for the vehicle. I have all the original owners manuals and booklets. I have all the original service manuals, build cards, and warranty cards. We have the original top removal tools and original flashlight mounted in the glove box. I have 2 sets of original Huf master keys and 1 Huf valet key. Huf was the original key manufacturer for Mercedes and these are the originals! We also have both original floor mats as well (some fading from age but in great shape). I have everything that you could want with this car. Every part on this car can be date coded and found to be original. Only the most basic maintenance items have been changed over the years. All major parts are original.This Mercedes 450SL is loaded up with practically every possible option that could have been ordered. It has MB Tex seats, both hard and soft top, color-matched wheel covers, glove box flashlight, power windows, power locks, dual remote mirrors, power antenna with original AM/FM Becker radio, cruise control, intermittent wipers, climate control, fog lights, analog clock, full set of factory gauges, and so much more.This vehicle was very well cared for and it shows. The maintenance is all current and the vehicle is reliable and runs like a dream. The car has matching BF Goodrich tires on it that are in great condition. We just installed a new battery less than 100 miles ago. I have driven this vehicle around town and it seems to be running and driving 100%. You can literally jump in this vehicle and drive it back home without any problems. The motor and transmission fluids are all very clean and the vehicle has good brakes, good rotors, and good windshield wiper blades. I was told this vehicle also had a full and complete tune-up 2 years ago when it was first taken out of storage and driven. The vehicle is ready to go without any issues. I have posted 2 videos of the car. In the first video you will see the car being driven on the highway and in the second video you will see me going through all the vehicles features and showing the equipment working. I also posted over 200 pictures of the vehicle so you can really get a feel for the cars condition.The exterior of the vehicle is super clean. The body panels are all perfect and the paintwork appears to be original and in perfect shape. The paint is glossy and the vehicle looks like its only a couple of years old. You can see your reflection in the paint of this vehicle. The exterior is in amazing condition and super clean. There are no real flaws to point out on the exterior at all. Its just a great vehicle.The soft top is original and there are no cracks in the rear plastic windows and all the top handles work perfectly. The top is in nice shape with just normal wear from being a 45 year old original top.The interior of the vehicle is like brand new. The seats are in great condition and the MB Tex is supple and clean. The dashboard and door panels are also in perfect condition and clean with no blemishes at all.  All the trimmings and other interior trims are in perfect condition with no cracks or delamination. The interior is in fantastic condition in my opinion.This vehicle looks super great, but keep in mind that it is 45 years old and you will find aging on any vehicle this old. This is a 17k mile 45 year old car, not a 17k mile car from 2020.
