1943 Willy's Jeep MB LRDG SAS recreation for sale

This 1943 Willy's MB jeep was originally imported from California and had a sympathetic rebuild in 2010 retaining approximately 95% of the original Toledo U. S. A. steel. The Willy's engine was rebuilt with new pistons. re-ground crank. new valves and guides.
The braking system was rebuilt and all oil seals replaced in the transmission. The steering box was rebuilt and all wiring renewed.
The grille slats were removed to emulate the look of the Long Range Desert Group and SAS jeeps used in North Africa and it was resprayed an authentic desert sand colour.
In March 2012 this jeep was one of two that took part in an historic re-enactment of the LRDG missions of WW 2 in Egypt successfully covering 2000 miles in harsh desert conditions.
It is MOT and tax exempt and currently in regular use.
It will be sold with an album of associated press material.
This will be offered for sale at H&H Classic Car Auctions. Rockingham Castle (U. K) on 21 st June 2014.
