Here we have for sale our 1987 Mercedes -Benz 420SL. the chassis No. is WDB1070472A0708582. t is one of the last R107 models. he car has been professionally restored over the last 4 years. xpenditure has exceeded £14. 00 so as you would expect car is in really excellent condition. t has covered 149k miles in its 27 years and amazingly has a fully stamped up service history (20 stamps) the bodywork is finished in Anthracite Metallic and is immaculate benefitting from 2 new front wings. ear passenger wing. uarter repair rear drivers side wing. eplacement doors. he cills chassis and bulkhead were all in excellent order and needed no attention. The bodywork then had a panels off full bare metal Respray(£4. 5k). he front bumper was renewed at a whopping £1900 +vat. he front windscreen was replaced. nd a brand new Original Equipment German Mohair Soft-top Hood was fitted with new seals. o finish it off a new set of the correct spec quality Avon Tyres were fitted. alloys are correct nice clean and undamaged. echanically it drives exceptionally well with full steady oil pressure. teady temp. very smooth the top end of the engine was fully rebuilt at 147k miles gearbox and diff were overhauled at the same time. have just had the brakes overhauled with new piston kits etc. and new shocks and car serviced. ngine pulls like a train very powerfull quiet and torquey with smooth gearchanges. erformance is quite surprising but brakes bring the old girl quickly and in a straight line. The interior is grey leather which has been overhauled re-connolised and is in excellent condition. he whole interior is very clean and undamaged. These cars can prove quite expensive and time consuming to restore. uch easier and cost effective to buy one that is already done. am hoping to get most of my restoration costs back but I am open to sensible offers.
