The Jaguar XJ-S was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 to
1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same
sporting image. the XJ-S was a competent replacement with better
aerodynamics and was last produced on 4 th April 1996. by which time
115. 13 examples had been produced during a period of 21-years. The
performance of the V 12 compared well against Italian cars with
acceleration of 0-60 mph in 7. 6 seconds and a top speed of 143 mph.
In 1983. a new 3. 6 litre XJ 6 straight-six. four valves per cylinder
engine was introduced by Jaguar and. at the same time. a cabriolet
model. the XJ-SC. became available. The XJ-SC was not a full
convertible but had a non-removable centre targa-type structure and
fixed rails above the doors. The static rear quarter windows of the
earlier model also remained.
Owned by the vendor for the last 17 years. this XJ-S Cabriolet is
fitted with the 3. 6 litre engine and automatic transmission. The
condition of the car could only be described as superb clearly
XJS 300 S has been
cherished and maintained very well. A full service history and
substantial file accompanies the car together with a Jaguar
Heritage Certificate. V 5 registration document and an Mo T Test
certificate valid until 1 st June 2015 (with no advisories).
Finished in Artic Blue with magnolia leather trim and benefitting
from a rear seat conversion. this XJ-SC is a fine example of an
increasingly desirable model.
