This car can only be described as a stunning unrestored and unmolested example of a fast appreciating. desirable classic. This is possibly the best original example left in the UK.

Derived from the Celica. this second generation MA 61 model has a straight 6. 2759 cc D. O. H. C engine delivering 170 bhp 5600 rpm. It has a top speed of 130 + and does 0 to 60 in 8. 7 seconds.

Brief History.

This car normally does less than 1. 00 miles a year attending classic car shows and is well known within our Toyota Club. It gets much admiration whenever it goes out and is regularly photographed at car shows and has received several awards. At the end of last year. it won best 1980's Car and Car of the Show at a Lancashire car show. best 1980's. second place at a Cheshire car show and the previous year. best Japanese sports car. second place at an indoor classic car show in Manchester (an MX 5 won the 1 st place).

This car has been extremely well looked after all of its life. being owned by a father and son for the first 25 years and has a comprehensive service file with all M. O. T certificates. some showing only a few miles each year.

I purchased this car in 2010 in lovely original condition. but had not been used very much due to an oil way fault within the cylinder head. (not head gasket). In short. it needed cylinder head work. as it was putting oil into the cooling system when it was run.

It had a fully reconditioned cylinder head fitted in 2010 at 35. 00 miles. which included all top end gaskets and seals. polished ports and recut valves and seats. It had a couple of thou taken off the face just to make sure the head was perfectly flat which it was. A new timing belt and tensioner was fitted at the same time. with new studs fitted to the exhaust manifold and has had a new front exhaust section fitted. (Photographic build available).

The end result is. this car performs beautifully and is very quiet. It is unbelievably economical. at a steady 75 mph. in overdrive. it gives me almost 40 mpg. It is faultless to drive. I am a perfectionist. so it has to be spot on for me. It recently had a full set of 5 new tyres fitted which have done less than 200 miles. It has the correct size tyres. 225 / 60 x 14. The car drives faultlessly. with no wheel imbalance or brake judder etc and the air con is still ice cold.

I service this car every year. usually before shows. mainly oil and filters. The oil does not get chance to get dirty. and is still clean when it is drained. over the top perhaps. but it keeps it perfect. There are no oil leaks anywhere on the engine. gearbox or diff. The auto box is beautiful. everything working as it should. This car looks and drives like new. and wants for nothing. It has the original working radio cassette with electric aerial too. Everything kept original. The original sales brochure for this model is also included in the sale.

It currently has approx 41. 00 miles on the clock from new. it has been periodically waxoyled during its life and looks as good underneath as it does on top. It is S. O. R. Ned during the winter months. but will be sold with a full 12 months M. O. T. and 6 months road tax to the winning bidder for peace of mind and good will. I am prepared to export this vehicle at the buyers cost.
