View this car 04/27/2014  at Knotts Berry Farm Fabulous Fords Forever Show one of ten featured Mercury's in the grass compound.

This is one of two resto-mod Indy Pace cars I am offering for auction. This one really puts a smile on your face when driven.   Originally a small block Cyclone purchased in Calif. 10 years ago as a donor for this project. I built this car as a tribute to the three '66 Indy Pace Cars that were rumored to have 427 Medium Riser engines installed to pace the 500.

The car has less than 200 miles since restoration.

Engine; Medium Riser 427. bored . 015. power honed. TRW forged pistons. (10. 2-1 true compression). Block C5AE-H cast as side oiler drilled as top oiler. Heads C5AE 6090F new valves . springs and retainers. Crane Cam #294 425hp solid lifters. Marine Crank . 010/. 010. Exhaust manifolds 427 CID specific (66/67 Cyclones & Fairlanes only)C60E-9430-D. 10-9-66. C70E-9431-D. 10-0-67. New 660 carbs. front C5AF-9510BD List 3300. rear C5AE-9510BC List 3301.

Transmission C6 heavy duty parts and shift kit.

Rear End. nine inch 3:50 posi  28 spline axils.

Brakes: four wheel power disc with auxiliary vacuum canister.

2 &1/2" exhaust.

Stainless flag stanchions.

Hood Lock.

Custom Instrument package with Auto Meter Gauges.

Crow Enterprises 3" safety belts.

Late model 17" Mustang wheels with new Z rated tires.

Power convertible top. good condition. nbsp;new weather strip seals. correct manual steering. one inch sway bar. factory AM radio. new wood grain steering wheel. new upholstery. original door panels( SEM coated to match covers. I hate white upholstery!!)

Lots of 1966 Comet & Indy 500 memorabilia.

Things that need to be fixed; Electric windows all work slowly against new seals. regulators could be rebuilt. Windshield wipers and washer intermittent. may need new switch. Plastic rear window is getting cloudy.

I'm sure I missed a few things but all in all this car is a dream to drive and gets quite a few compliments. I recommend a personal viewing either at Knotts Berry Farm on the 27th of this month or by appointment.

The last two pictures are of Benson Ford Sr. as the Honorary Starter of the 1966 Indy 500 driving the Cyclone GT Pace Car and Henry Ford III at the wheel of this car at the Fabulous Fords Forever Show at Knotts Berry Farm last Sunday April 27th 2014.
