1952 Morris Minor late MM / Split Screen, professional restored stunning example £12,750.00 (No VAT) Make MORRISModel MINORYear 1952 Transmission Manual Fuel Petrol Engine Size 918 ccm Mileage 51,800 Miles Emission class-- Absolute Classic Cars are delighted to offer this stunning, late production, MM Saloon. This 1952 MM, was first register to a Mr Issac of Georgeham, Devon and from decoding her chassis we can confirm she is a genuine RHD, home market, 2 door example and was finished in Black as we see her today. Little is know about her early history, we have her original buff logbook, showing the car has thankfully retained her original registration and its only the early 90's when the car was sold to Mrs P Hopkins that 'Myrtle' underwent the transformation to the wonderful example we see today.A largely solid and original car, Mrs Hopkins entrusted her MM to Autokraft, the renowned Cobra specialists, with the clear instruction that Myrtle should be fully restored with an eye for detail and originality and over an 18 month period, 1992-93 the MM was subject to the following works:- Complete body strip down, to bare shell and media-blasted to reveal any rust, poor panels etc. From this any new panels were fitted, seam sealed, treated with rust inhibitor and the with shell, panels etc fully prep'd the bodywork was painted in her original gloss black with red pin-stripe, with the detail extending to inner arches and the underbody.- All mechanical components checked for wear and either rebuilt or replaced with new parts.- All mechanical / underbody components either painted or powder-coated as per factory finish.- Brake system overhauled, all new brake lines.- Stainless exhaust system fitted.- All bright work checked and where in good condition these have been retained, all other items replaced for new.- All new door, window rubbers and new gaskets for brightwork/lens etc.- All new light lens, brake lights etc.- Full electrical check, new loom fitted as necessary.- Fuel tank checked and repainted, all new fuel lines.- Wheels media-blasted and painted black.- New tyres.- New interior including carpet (red) plus rubber over-mats, headlining / sun-visors replaced, and seats & all door / kick panels trimmed in Maroon.A comprehensive photographic record and bills for several thousand fully support the works carried out and once completed the car even spent part of 1994 at Brooklands Motor Museum forming part of display celebrating the Morris Minor. Having covered less than 1000 miles since her restoration, we have MOT's back to the mid-80's we're delighted to say that this MM remains in excellent, she really has been cherished and one can't help admire the detail both inside and out. The side-valve engine starts easily and pulls sweetly through all gears, and although small in capacity, the light weight of the MM means she will happily buzz along A-roads, but to really enjoy this classic it's best to just sing along down the country roads and one can't help but smile especially with the 'waspy rasp' heard from the exhaust during gear-changes.Without doubt one of the nicest MM's we've seen, the car comes with a great history file containing containing countless photos of the work carried out by Autokraft, invoices for £0000's dating back to the early 90's, MOT's back to '86, parts catalogues, tool bag, tool-kit and ahead of delivery she will be fully serviced. Amongst the 000's of Minors out this 1952 Split Screen MM is a real stand out, one to be proud of and ready to be enjoyed. Absolute Classic Cars We have a 5 Star Google and Facebook rating.
