1959 Messerschmitt TG 500 Convertible. red with black soft top. 88 DTO was first registered by Blacknell Motors Ltd on the 26th January 1959. Being one of only 18 T. G 500's imported to Britain. In April of that year it was sold to Testwood Motors and used as a development car. It took part in the 1959 Scottish rally and was driven by Ken Piper where it came second in its class. It featured in Autosport magazine in May 1959 of which there is a copy of in the history file. The car was restored in 1989 and took part in the 1100 mile Marburg Rally. It still remains in outstanding condition throughout. Comes with a large history file containing many original documents and photographs. the buff log book. and still retaining it's original registration number. The current owner has done a return trip to Spain from the UK and three tours of Switzerland. which is testament to the condition and reliability of this wonderful machine. With values of these Tigers rapidly on the increase. this car with such provenance should prove to be a great investment. in fact RM have just achieved a staggering $322. 00 for the same model in a US auction. A fantastic fun car to drive and worthy pride of place in anyone's collection.
