      Vauxhall Cresta PA 1958.

3-piece rear window model. now rare and seldom do these early cars come up for sale.

 

The car is finished in Pink over White (originally Royal Glow over Imperial Ivory). The car

was restored around 6 years ago. the interior although retains its early features has been retrimmed in a 1950`s coach type material to a very good standard and actually suits the car.

All wings . oors bonnet . oot lid . ills. floors are nice with mint and I repeat mint inner front wings. which on these models suffer from corrosion. also behind the rear window section including filler cap is also mint and once again this is a common rust area that costs a fortune to repair and only by skilled person. The boot floor is mint as well

 

The engine and gearbox is good. I have converted the automatic choke to manual type for first time starting. but the carburettor is still the original type VNT.

 

The rear bumper is nice and shines up well. the front is clean and passable. the side trims especially doors need rechroming.

 

The car when I bought it had 14” large wheels. spent a fortune rebuilding the front suspension now has correct 13” wheels with full Cresta hub caps.

 

The headlining is original and mint . o is the rear parcel shelf. someone has put a Michelin man motif on the dash which I have removed there is a small fixing hole. but have a nice spare dash top included in the sale.

 

The car is very reliable. but been off the road since October (first signs of winter) so no insurance. the brakes are sticking and could do with a new set of cylinders or a good clean and use the car.

 

So to sum up. An early car with original registration number. nice body nice interior (retrimmed in none original material) no MOT now exempt not mint but equally not

Concours asking price. I would advise to have the car transported since there is no tax (not applicable) but it is on SORN. Please do not ask me questions from;

“will the car drive to Scotland “ will you take a better price now “
