We are proud to offer this stunningly restored 1929. Marmon. Model 78.
This car is only 1 of 2. Two Door Coupes known to be left in the World.
This 217 Cubic Inch Overhead valve Model 78 was the top model offered by Marmon Motor Company in 1929.
The car was originally exported to Switzerland as such the cars speedometer is calibrated to KPH. very little is known of its history up till the mid 1980's when the car was discovered in Switzerland. and sent to Austria for a complete frame off restoration by Mr Peter Olainsky of Blunders-Burs.
There is a folder showing the well photographed restoration carried out on the car. as well as the original sales brochure from Marmon for the Model 78.
The vehicle was then bought over to the UK in 2000 and after being in the country only a few short weeks was bought by a friend of the present owner.
The friend a Mr Richard Herbert. his son Paul discovered the car in Abridge. Essex. and contacted his father who liked the car so much he bought it on the spot from the Owner who imported it in. Mr Jock D Thompson.
After 2 years Richard sold the car to his friend who now has decided to sell the Car some 13 Years after buying it in 2002 from Richard.
The Present owner of the Vehicle has driven this car sparingly. over the 13 years he has owned the car. and as a matter of pride. this vehicle has never seen rain!
The cars restoration was carried out some 30 years ago. and still presents today in immaculate condition. viewing this car is a must!
The quality of the restoration is above and beyond anything most will have ever seen. and would gladly be a Pebble Beach contender.
The car also features a Rumble Seat. and Golf Locker.
