1971 Mini Cooper S 1275
Sold for restoration. its a very genuine car with only 44. 00 genuine miles the car has full history virtually from new and a very nice story. in 1993 Auto express magazine approached John Cooper himself and asked him to supply them with a mint original cooper S that was to be given away in a competition. This is the car he found for them. at that time it was in near perfect original condition. with a genuine 30. 00 mls. he prepared it through his workshop in Ferring Sussex ready for the lucky winner. John Cooper presented the car to the winner a mr ++++++++? he also personally signed the passenger sunvisor which is still with the car today along with press cuttings. magazine articles and his dealership stickers still adorn the rear window.
The car has since been used by a couple of owners then was taken off the road for a light restoration that has never been completed. its a fantastic project. it has the original shell and engine from new. new heritage panels have been bought and these include o/s inner wing assembly. outer wing. front panel. it really needs the n/s inner wing replacing as well. that is not supplied. I believe they are around the £175 price bracket.
The doors and rear wings are very good. the floors need a little work or maybe replacement as the panels for these are very cheap.
As you can see the car is partially dismantled but it is complete. the engine was still running well when removed.
This will make a fantastic car when restored. it has lovely history all properly documented. prices of these Cooper S are rocketing now with restored cars advertised for around the £30 k mark. restored correctly this car with its history will be worth a significant amount of money
