You have a unique and rare opportunity to purchase an extremely sought-after classic 1973 Jensen Interceptor Series 3 in the most desirable colour combination of metallic silver grey with contrasting magnolia special trim Connolly hide interior and with a very low mileage of only 55. 48 miles.

Selling on behalf of a valued and long standing customer this car is being offered for sale as a ‘running and rolling' restoration.   It is with great regret that we are selling the car. as it was originally purchased with every intention of ourselves carrying out and making the vehicle a full 100-point concourse show winner as it is such a desirable piece of automotive history. however with our current ever increasing workload. it is unlikely that we can make valuable workshop space and resources available to carry out the restoration and recommissioning that the car and our valued customer really deserves within the next 12 months so the decision has been made to let another enthusiast enjoy the refurbishment.

The vehicle was registered in the UK on 26 October 1973 and on an ‘M' plate. Having been in secure storage for nearly 20 years it was recently partially re-commissioned and now requires further remedial work to enhance the mechanics to enable it as a reliable daily driver. The car does come with a valid MoT until January 2015. but I have my doubts on the integrity of the issuing inspector's standards. So I would personally want to review its validity. All the body mouldings and chrome trims are in place and all are in excellent condition. The car has the original factory 6. 5 x 15 alloy wheels. with polished rims. which are in very good. undamaged condition with quality 205/70/15 Dunlop SP Sport Super tyres on the front and 205/70/15 Bridgestone RD-207 tyres on the rear.

The car is in good sound condition and as far as I know has been free from any accident damage repairs (the car is totally clear on the HPI register). The mileage of 55948 is correct and confirmed via the National Mileage Register. and comes with a comprehensive history portfolio detailing some considerable expense prior to its lengthy storage. The engine is the original classic Chrysler V8. very powerful and sounds fantastic. The car is documented to have had a major engine rebuild which included. a complete mechanical strip down and reassemble with new piston rings. bearings. cylinder heads. core plugs. gaskets. seals. hoses. water pump. 4-barrel carburetor and inlet manifold as well as a complete new stainless steel exhaust system. This work was carried out only 2. 00 miles ago just prior to being stored. The engine fires up with no nasty knocks or rattles. smoke free. revs freely and smoothly with that V8 growl. The ignition barrel needs replacing as its worn with age. as does the starter solenoid. both relatively minor jobs. but the car can be heard starting and running without a problem. Documented maintenance also includes a new fully rebuilt automatic gearbox and torque convertor which was carried out only 1500 miles ago. with a new alternator and fuel pump. plus a recent new Bosch battery.

The exterior bodywork and underneath of the car are areas that require cosmetic enhancement.   It's certainly not the usual totally rusty and rotten 41 year-old Interceptor you usually find. It's in good solid condition; chassis is rust free. there have been signs of previous repairs to the underside but the main areas requiring attention are the n/s/r quarter panel/wheel arch and both door bottoms.  Front outer wings are in excellent structural condition. only starting to show signs of paint bubbling on the wing top. The exterior paintwork is bright and shiny. but paint blisters and scabs are evident on some panels. These areas aren't severely corroded and the panels are all structurally sound. Repaired and with a new coat of paint it will look absolutely amazing.

The interior is in remarkable good condition throughout. with no damage to the vast amounts of Connolly leather. there no wear and tear on the seat centers or bolsters other than age related patina and creasing. The dashboard and headliner are undamaged and in excellent condition. The worst area is the o/s/r door card which is coming away from the leather. but this is a relatively minor job. A good clean and a professional leather connolising procedure (www. benchmarkleather. co. uk) would make the interior like brand new again.

The vehicle has the usual model features of its era including. a beautiful original Moto-Lita steering wheel. electric windows. air conditioning. electric mirrors. Pioneer radio cassette. The car benefits from the having the bullet proof Chrysler 7212cc (440 cu. in. ) V8 engine developing a massive 330bhp and 350 lb ft @ 2400rpm. coupled to a 3-speed automatic gearbox.

I have the full V5 registration document. statement of origin from Jensen Motors. original factory build sheets. warranty claim sheets. field service reports and production check lists.

This is an extremely rare and desirable vehicle which does require light restoration and recommissioning but is equally very sought after and especially with it being chosen as the latest ‘James Bond' vehicle of choice I'm sure will command an extremely high price in the current marketplace and represents exceptional value for money whilst becoming extremely rewarding investment opportunity. This car is a very special car with a low mileage and excellent provenance. On the whole this is a fantastic car that has been fastidiously maintained and cherished throughout its life. and which looks and drives like a classic Interceptor should.

Viewing is highly recommended and ANY inspection is welcome. There are no warranties or guarantees offered or implied due to the age of the vehicle. and the car is sold strictly sold as seen on a person to person basis. I reserve the right to end the listing at anytime as the car it advertised elsewhere. I will require a deposit of 20% to be paid via electronic transfer at close of listing and the balance to be paid in cash or electronic transfer within 5 days on collection or shipment of the car.
