Very Rare 1959 Deutsch Bonnet HBR5 Coach for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 938 votes
About 430 of the standard HBR 5 were built. -The HBR 5 was the second fiberglass-bodied car to have entered series production. f such a thing can indeed be said about any of DB's products - no two cars may have been alike. as they were built according to customer specifications from a wide range of options. The HBR 5 was complemented by the less sporting Le Mans (1958–1964). after which the DB brand was broken up into CD and Bonnet. The HBR 5 model (1954–1959) was Deutsch and Bonnet's (DB) most successful project to date. with several hundred of the cars produced between 1954 and 1959. The Deutsch Bonnet came to us in a collection of cars from a major northeast museum. Nearly all of the cars were donated in the 50s and early 60s and many were never put on display. When the car came to us it was not running or driving but it was obvious that someone was recently working on it. Work we did consisted of oil change. lubricating the cylinders and rolling the engine over {it was free}. New battery. Installed missing coil. clean fuel tank and carburetor. replaced plug wires. at which point we were able to fire the engine up.  We also overhauled the brake master and all 4 wheel cylinders and installed the brake shoes which were in a box. Tried to test drive the car but the engine was moving around so much due to broken rear motor mounts that it was not safe to drive. We replaced the rear mounts with some BMW Trans mounts that were a perfect fit. Was able to test drive and it actually runs/drives decently. The engine does not smoke or have any unusual noises. clutch and transmission work well and suspension /brakes etc. all feel decent. Chassis is rust free and I'm sure the mileage showing {42605} is correct. There was some fiberglass work done on the bottom of the car. Body appears pretty wavy but I assume this is how they came. Not original the tail light. Please only serious bidder will be considered.

Bonjour Arnaud. Your note is dated 13/5/13 so one may assume the car is long gone. I like the looks of it and must have one. Saw it romp at Le Mans in 1959. Find me another
