1965 Merlyn Mk6a race car for sale

Owned by me since 2004 and since then has been used lightly in HSCC. Goodwood Revival (2 times - 2009 and 2011 next time eligible 2014) Spa 6 Hour (4 th overall 2005).
Following a £25 k overhaul by WDK Motorsport (invoices to show for it!) in 2011 it has hardly been used.
In 2011 we won our class in HSCC Autosport 3 Hour and in the open class closed wheel race at 2011 Walter Hayes I came 6 th overall a split second behind a BMW Elva and first of the twin cam sports racers. This was the only races entered the whole season.
In 2012 I qualified in Autosport 3 hour with a time of 2-16 but did not race due to head gasket failure. This was the only race entered in 2012!
Since then I have only raced it once. at the Easter 2013 HSCC Guards Trophy at Thruxton.
Since then I have had the gearbox refreshed by BPA Engineering (£1700).
Full current HTP papers along with old FIA and HSCC Identity papers from early 80's
Selling because my son prefers modern racing. Will swap for good XK 120 OTS with matching numbers or sell at £80 k - car can be viewed at workshop in Dorset. Buyer pays direct not through paypal and please no scammers - heard all the stories!
