1963 Triumph TR 4
Our pretty Signal Red TR 4 has had just five owners in the last fifty-one years. It's a UK market right-hand drive car still with its original (transferable) registration number. original colour and ‘matching numbers' engine. It has the all-important overdrive fitted too.
Over the last few years it has been subject to substantial restoration and numerous new parts. Paul Inch Engine Services rebuilt the engine in 2011 with new pistons. liners. bearings and the cylinder head reconditioned and converted to unleaded.
The body has been restored with new panels. including floorpans. and completely resprayed to a high standard with excellent panel fit.
Equally the interior received new carpets. repairs to the original seats. new door cards and new door and boot seals. The dashboard is still painted metal. as is correct for a TR 4. however the steering wheel has been replaced with a nicely aged wood rim Moto Lita.
Other recent expenditure includes four new Toyo tyres on the period 60 s magnesium Minilites. a new aluminium fuel tank. new rear springs. new brake pipes. new clutch plus master and slave cylinders.
The hood is undamaged and in the correct vinyl.
The Triumph TR 4 is perhaps the ubiquitous British sports car with wonderful looks. an easy yet involving driving experience and fantastic spares back up. This example is ready to enjoy and in lovely. usable condition.
