Motoe Xotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer this 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser. Mercury was way ahead of the times and thought to the future when they debuted the Turnpike. This car was overflowing with unusual styling and intriguing features!

To understand the Turnpike Cruiser. remember what was going on in the country then. President Eisenhower had just signed into law the Interstate Highway System. and everyone was looking forward to the day when super highways would connect the nation. So Turnpike Cruiser was just what was needed!

Finished in two tone red & white. the paint is in beautiful condition and we are hard pressed to find imperfections! The body. taking design notes from the “space age. is straight as an arrow and solid. It is also equipped with fender skirts and two functional air intakes on each pillar. The chrome is in wonderful condition and has a brilliant sheen. This is a seriously futuristic car that just so happened to be built in the 50 s!

Inside. the interior compliments the exterior perfectly! The two tone red and white cloth/vinyl seats are in excellent condition and show minimal signs of wear. The seats also are lined with gold piping that give the upholstery a touch of higher class. The red carpet. headliner and two tone doors are all in great condition. The dashboard compliments the exterior as well and houses some really cool components such as “Seat-O-Matic” power seats. AM radio. clock and an ultra rare tachometer! Flanking the upper windshield are two functional air intakes that keep things cool and fresh while cruising the turnpike.

Under the hood. you'll find a clean and tidy engine bay. The Turnpike is powered by a 368 ci 290 HP V 8 engine. Mated to the engine is a Push Button “Merc-O-Matic” Automatic Transmission. It sits elegantly upon a set of 14” wheels wrapped in P 215/75 R 14 tires that look great.
