SELLER REMARKS
In terms of sheetmetal per dollar. it's hard to beat this full-sized 1967 Buick Le Sabre. which casts a shadow nearly 17 feet long and has enough room inside for the starting lineup of the Boston Celtics. It also has that incomparable big car ride. enough class to get it parked in the front row at any high-end establishment. and surprisingly entertaining performance that will make the driver happy every time he starts the engine.
Cloaked in original code 31 Champagne Mist paint. it is perhaps the anti-muscle-car. subtle and stately rather than in-your-face brash. But that's what Buick fans like. myself included. It has presence and performance to spare. and with the sweeping body lines. traditional portholes. and deeply Vee'd grille. it offers traditional Buick styling that has always been admired. Painted about six years ago. it still looks great. a testament to the quality workmanship and excellent care that it has received. and the finish has the right look. neither too shiny nor with excessive metallic. The big doors line up well. which is critical because that unbroken curve is the car's primary styling element. and you can even see in photos how well the enormous hood fits. There's plenty of chrome. which is. of course. part of the Buick charm. and all of it is nicely polished to really pop against that soft gold paint.
There's room for six aboard this luxury land cruiser. with tastefully upholstered bench seats. That's code 423 A Saddle upholstery. which includes softly contrasting tan carpets with matching mats. nicely rendered door panels with enough chrome to remind you that this is a high-end car. and a wide dash that's almost perfectly symmetrical. That tri-spoke Buick wheel has a cool '60 s futuristic look and all the instruments are clearly legible through its spokes. Discreet vents under the dash provide A/C cooling and the original radio is still in the dash. augmented by an AM/FM/cassette head unit neatly hidden under the seat. The white convertible top fits very well and with a genuine glass rear window. it seals up better than most convertibles of the era and you never have to worry about your rear view getting cloudy with age. And like any Buick. the trunk is positively massive. carrying a correct reproduction mat and a full-sized spare with its own cover.
As far as we can tell. the 340 cubic inch V 8 under the hood is this car's original powerplant. It starts with a pleasant burble from the single tailpipe. and with a 4-barrel carburetor. this torquey small block makes the Le Sabre feel relaxed and effortless in everything it does. It appears to be largely original under the hood. with traces of the original Dante Red engine enamel still visible on the valve covers and block. There's plenty of evidence of proper maintenance over the years and you shouldn't think twice about taking this big cruiser on that long road trip you've always dreamed of it's what cars like this were made to do. A TH 400 3-speed automatic transmission spins the original 10-bolt rear end. which has highway-friendly gears inside and hangs on a suspension with that incomparable Buick magic carpet ride. It's been undercoated to help control heat and noise. and even still wears stock hubcaps inside correct-looking 215/75/15 Michelin narrow whitewall radials.
You certainly won't see another one of these at your local cruise night. and given the affordable price and handsome restoration. this Le Sabre has to qualify as a screaming bargain. Call today!
