1965 VW SO42 Westfalia Campervan.

Much sort after conversion with original interior and with pop-top. original height not lowered. Tax exempt. And will come with a full MOT which it has always sailed through. So she will be ready to roll for the summer.

Imported from Florida in 2011 where it had undergone full restoration. previously it was registered in New Mexico. Registered first in UK in October 2011.

Pictures of resto in US show full body restoration and welding where required which looks like very little as it has spent its whole life in dry states. The panels now are very straight. The underneath was painted black as part of the resto but we have pictures of the underneath before it was sprayed.   It was fitted with a superb 1600 single port engine which fires up every time without fail and original running gear.

Since owning it we have replaced the flywheel. clutch. rear wheel bearings. linkpin and offside brake cylinder.

The pop top canvas and seals. toggles were replaced as part of the resto and is in perfect condition. The interior is in excellent condition with original yellow vinyl seats. cool box with small table. centre table. wardrobe etc. The interior is one of the most versatile interiors in a VW camper as it can all be removed fairly easy with a few clips. so you can rearrange as you need it.

I have made and fitted new curtains all round in green gingham with blackout fabric reverse. We have a child's bunk which fits over the front cab which is included. We have fitted a leisure battery which runs 12 volt plug in the cab and there is a 240v converter pack to attach to the leisure battery for use while camping.

The front bench seat is finished in black vinyl and has 3 point seat belts fitted. The van has always been dry stored In a garage and not used over the winter months. The van has only been used about 10 times for weekends away up and down the UK since it has been here and divorce now reluctantly forces sale.

The things we feel need doing - speedo not working on last trip before the winter - probably just the cable - rear door hinge sticks when door fully open - 2 hub caps missing as 2 of the wheels need new clips fitting but Overall "Florence" is in great condition.

There is slight paint run to the passenger door although the rest of the paint is superb with a few stone chips. front bumper although paint ok is slightly bent in appearance. Although there are these few imperfections on Florence she really is in great condition and we welcome viewings.

If you want any pictures of any specific area let me know and I can sort these out.   I know how many people say their van is mint for you to drive 100 miles to find they have failed to mention specific bits but I am confident I have been as honest as possible and you wont be disappointed.
