I'd like to introduce everyone to Casper, my 1983 E 28 520 i. He is in 100% original form. Zero aftermarket work. Casper is not and does not want to be a garage queen. He's not a car that should be purchased and stored to be used as an investment. He is a car that LOVES to be driven. Granted he will go up in value over time, but this is a car that must be enjoyed throughout your ownership.

Why am I saying this?

Every single yard in this car is an incredibly special experience, an orchestra of sensory inputs that simply can't be achieved to the same degree in any other classic. Overall an absolute pleasure to drive and it would be a massive shame for him to be hidden away somewhere instead of enjoyed on the road. This car MUST be driven & enjoyed.

According to How Many Left there are only 2 1983 models on the road in the UK and according to Car Log Book this is the only Lapis Blue on the road or SORN. So just to reiterate - this is the only Lapis Blue in the UK.

The engine runs incredibly well. The original interior is PERFECT (see the pictures, it's like new…). I challenge you to find an E 28 with a better interior than this. Gearbox is smooth with every gear change. The ride is sublime, Casper loves cruising at 50 on country roads.

Despite the paintwork not being perfect (you know, comes with age) he gets more attention and compliments than any of my other cars ever have (and I've definitely owned some flashy cars…).

I purchased this car last May from Cosford Hall Classic, a reputable group who specialises in E 28 s. I waited over 2 years to get this exact colour combination and it was definitely worth the wait.

It's perfect. You know that saying “if you don't look back at your car after you park, you didn't get the right car” - You're definitely getting the right car.

Key Points:

The best exterior colour for an E 28, I personally haven't seen another one up for sale (any year, any engine size) in this colour since purchasing it or for the 2 years leading up to me purchasing it The interior is like new. Genuinely, like new. (see pics) If in the pictures you think you see some scratch/tear/discolouration, it's just the light. Again, the interior is like new.

No cracks on the dashboard (see pics) All dash gauges were replaced by a company in the Netherlands before the car was handed to me Engine doesn't miss a beat Gearbox doesn't miss a beat Electric mirrors work Original radio, cassette player & speakers work (see pics) Blower works great

Heating works better than in my 4 series… Basically everything works Full original toolkit present, tools in pristine condition (see pics) All original badges present (see pics) Passed both previous MOTs without any advisories

(see pics)Spare wheel and jack included of course (removed just to take the pictures) Period tyres (I've wanted to change them due to light cracks and slight deformation from standing for so long before I got the car, but they look perfect and I wasn't able to find the same style anywhere) Due to the old tyres there is a wobble around 60 mph when it reaches that specific frequency, nothing below and nothing over Cambelt changed less than 10 k miles ago Full service done at CLP Automotive within the last 500 miles or so (oil, filters, fluids, spark plugs, etc) CLP Automotive also replaced (insert valve name here, I don't remember) and the engine idles very smoothly now Could use a new battery, current one doesn't keep much of a charge over a few days, but I anyway keep it on a trickle charger so it's not bothered me Some rust in the front of the engine bay (behind the front bumper kind of) and random bubbles here and there, but nothing major worth reporting. Condition definitely in the top 10% of E 28 s that I've ever seen You can see the condition of the body in the pictures. he's not a garage queen, but still in really good shape. In the sun the colour is spectacular No rust in the boot (see pics) No leaks in the boot No rust around the spare wheel (see pics) No leaks in the sunroof Sunroof works, it is not welded (shame to see other cars with welded sunroofs…) No leaks through the doors No leaks when washing the car No leaks anywhere…No rust around the strut mounts Window/door chrome is in amazing condition (see pics) Original windows (still have the reg written on them) V 5 of course present and in my name MOT until Feb 3 rd 2022 Mileage is 124,489, but will go up slowly (I don't expect it to go over 124,750)Car is located in post code S 6, I will deliver for free within a 25 mile radius or £1 per mile within 100 miles. £500 deposit required for delivery.

This is an extremely reluctant sale due to moving out of the UK soon with business. Part of me is hoping he won't sell so I have an excuse to bring him with me, but deep down I know it will be a quick sale. Please no silly offers. I have been as honest as I can in the advert to avoid wasting your time, so please offer me the same courtesy and don't waste mine.

So all in all, if you are looking for a 100% original E 28 in the best colour combination with a pristine interior that you can daily and truly ENJOY then Casper is the car for you. He's given me many smiles to the gallon, I know he'll treat you just as well!
