1965 Vanden Plas 4 Litre Barn Find Showing 65000 Miles!!

It is far to good to use for spares as these Rolls Royce engine classics are getting few and far now days. It is finished in Black over Sherwood Green and have to say looks good in the pictures but as we all know pictures can lie!! In saying that the basics are there and the interior is wonderful!! Great patina with that wonderful smell of leather looking fabulous with the Burred Walnut Dash and door cappings. The roof lining is incredible. looking excellent after so many years!! The off side front wing has been replaced at some point in its life for a fibreglass one which ideally needs replacing back to steel. I have not had it running but did put a battery off my own car just to make sure it did turn over which it does but the electric fuel pup need the points cleaning as probably corroded with standing!! Please come along at view and inspect for yourself as I'm no expert and would feel a lot happier if you came to make up your own mind as to its state of repair as after all we all have different standards but don't think you will be disappointed.

I do not have the registration document and havn't applied for one as don want to add another owner but easy enough get from the DVLA for £25.

A brief encounter between Rolls-Royce and BMC led to the Vanden Plas 4-Litre R of 1964. The ‘R' of the name was shorthand for the 3909 cc Rolls-Royce six-cylinder engine under the bonnet of a modified 3-Litre body shell. The 175 bhp of the all-alloy unit meant an easy car to drive – even without the extra refinement from the Borg Warner automatic transmission. power steering and servo-assisted front disc brakes. There was even more wood and leather inside than in the 3-Litre cars. Rolls-Royce even considered building its own version as a Bentley but then decided against it
