Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 161 votes
Vehicle History:I purchased this car in 2011 repaired and partially restored it. The car had been sitting in a driveway for several years. I am the third owner of this vehicle. As far as I know the original owner had the car from new until around 2003. The second owner purchased the vehicle and had issues passing inspection because at the time it was not old enough to be registered as a classic. Some time around 2004  the car was parked and sat until I purchased it. The miles are approximate. the odometer is stuck at 35k. I believe the milage on this vehicle is accurate because the pervious owner had maintenance records and inspection documents from 2003-2004 with milage recorded.
Vehicle Condition:The car is over all a very nice example of the year and model.
Engine: Runs  well and is complete. I changed fluids. some belts. hoses. fuel filters. plugs and had porsche mechanic replace warm up regulator so the car will start on even the coldest morning.
Transmission:It has a 5 speed manual trans which I believe was a new option in 1979 and an improvement over the original 4 speed. The car does shift in and out of all the gears. The clutch is original. but in very good working order.
Restoration that has been completed:
Exterior:The car had minor surface rust on the roof and hood as well as some paint cracking on the passenger side. I sanded the roof. hood. and passenger side down  to metal primed and repainted original color dark gray. The driver side of the car is still the original paint it is not perfect but it does match the new paint pretty nicely. The car looks nice and can be driven as is.
Interior:I replaced the carpet through out the vehicle as it was very worn and badly faded. I recovered the steering wheel with a black leather kit. I Installed a dash cover as the original dash board was cracked. The original radio was broken so I replaced it with a Alpine CD player.
The car has new battery. a set of four new Michelin tires. and a new seal around the sunroof. I did the work on the car with my dad and now would like to sell it to purchase a new  and more reliable vehicle for daily use. I haven't  driven the car much It is currently registered in PA as an Antique. I did drive the car from New Jersey to PA about 100 miles and had no issues. The car is fun to drive and pretty good on gas. You could spend more time. and relatively little effort to get the car perfect. or you could drive it as is.
I live in PA. I am open for  anyone local to stop by and see the car in person. For out of state buyers. you are responsible for your own transportation costs involved in getting the vehicle.
I reserve the right to end the sale early and sell privately as I do have the car listed else where.
I am happy to answer any questions.
