1963 Studebaker Lark Regal Wagonaire for sale
Current customer rating: (559 votes ) based on1963 STUDEBAKER LARK REGAL WAGONAIRE
The Lark Wagonaire was conceived by Brook Stevens on the Raymond Lowery Lark body. From the A pillar back the Wagonaire was Brook Stevens' design. including the sliding roof. It has been said the Wagonaire was one of the most distinctive station wagons ever built. Others have said that it is the world's only wagon convertible.
This Wagonaire is the mid level model. It is equipped with the Skybolt 170 cubic inch six with 112 HP and the three speed manual transmission with overdrive. It does not have power steering. power brakes. power tailgate. air conditioning. radio or the third seat option. It does have the optional sliding roof. front and rear bumper guards and heater. The standard vanity glove box is complete and in good condition. After market seat belts have been installed.
Only 11. 915 Wagonaire's were built in 1963 and 2. 50 were Regal six cylinder cars. This Wagonaire was purchased new in Madras. Oregon and spent its entire live in central Oregon. The second owner stored the car in 1984 and the car did not move again until 2013. Not long before it was stored. the engine was given new rings and a valve job. Because of central Oregon's dry climate. this car does not have ANY RUST…. NONE. The floors. fender wells. bottoms of the doors are solid and the tailgate and sliding roof rails are totally rust free. The manual tailgate glass raises and lowers. as it should. The rubber floor mats have been removed to show that there is no rust. Most Wagonaires are prone to lots of rust. so thousands of dollars in rust repair can be saved.
The car has 117. xx miles and after a carburetor rebuild and new plugs the engine runs with an auxiliary gas tank (did not want to pull bad gas from the original tank). The original gas tank is in the car but I assume should need cleaning. The engine still needs plug wires. distributor cap. rotor and points plus hoses and belts. The exterior and interior of this car are original. A clear Oregon title will be provided as well as documentation for mileage and engine repairs.
THE BAD:
The windshield needs replacing.
Left rear damage to bumper and a small amount to body (see [picture).
No spare tire or jack.
Overall. this is a rust free original western car that is complete and has great potential. I am more than happy to answer questions and assist in loading the car for transport. The car is located in northern California in Orland (95963) which is 100 miles north of Sacramento

On Feb-22-14 at 13:47:01 PST. seller added the following information:The Wagonaire does have reclining front seats. The overdrive mechanical and electrical are all in tact but the car has not been "highway driven" to test the overdrive because of the temporary auxiliary tank. The car does have brakes but not tested for highway driving.
