1953 Pontiac Chieftain Convertible

Unmolested. all original car!!!! Solid. no rust car. has just over 37. 00 miles. If you are not looking for a perfect. over-restored museum car but wanting a real-deal 1953 car straight from the past. this might be it.

Original 8 cylinder 268 with 122 bhp runs and drives wonderfully. Starts right up. no smoke. no anything. Purrs. Automatic transmission has no leaks. Undercarriage/floors/frame are spotless and solid. Original radio works wonderfully as does the power top and it's still sporting very old Sears Allstate Whitewalls. showing how little this car has actually been on the road.

Only recent upgrades to the car is a new fuel pump. new brake lines & master cylinder. I believe the trunk liner is original with no tears or damage other than a water stain (see photo). All the wiring is original. interior & engine emblems/stickers in place. Spare tire has never seen the road and is beautiful.

Paint and body shows a few minor blemishes from time but is overall beautiful. All glass is perfect with expection of rock ping in windshield (see photo). no fogging. no cracks. Convertible top is older with one stress crack at each side of base (see photo) but rear window clear and power top motor in working order. I can send video of top in action. Top boot in trunk.

Interior seats in good condition with no serious stains. cracks or tears. Driver's door panel has thin line of discoloration under top rail (see photo). It may bleach out but it's never bothered me so I've never touched it. Part of the car's original charm. Kick panels show minor scuffs but looks fine. Carpet is good condition with very faint stains visible up close.

Chrome is also in good shape with exception of minor surface rust at front bumper ends and grill top (see photos). Otherwise. solid and very presentable.

Comes with original 1953 shop manuals. door post has visible but disintigrating. old service sticker. interior lights working great even on rear top bow. lighted Indian hood ornament. Rear springs were wrapped and emergency brake works fine.

Happy to answer any questions or send as many pictures or videos of car running. starting. etc. Call me at 828-885-8311 and to make arraigements to inspect or test drive. I am NOT a dealer. Can work with buyer in helping make shipping arraigements or could possibly deliver. Again. this is not a perfect. restored car but an original. solid car straight out of time.

This is the first time I've listed my Pontiac for sale.   I will also be listing car for sale in another source and locally.   Therefore. I reserve the right to remove this listing should I sell prior to end of auction.
