1954 MGTF LHD project car for restoration - Matching numbers example for sale
Current customer rating:
This auction is for a 1954 LHD MGTF project car.
Recently imported from the United States. where it has sat unused for many years. She presents well. but does now need restoration.
The engine. although stuck. is complete and original to the car - This is a sought after numbers matching example. The front bulkhead appears very strong and unmolested.
Underneath. the chassis is very solid with surface rust only. however the wood has rotted in various places and will need replacing (See pics).
The seats appear to have been recovered in the not too distant past - The car retains its original Jaeger octagonal instruments and correct factory fitted MG steering wheel.
Generally the bodywork is pretty good. with very good/strong wings. Some of the panels do have pitting to the metal surface though. hard to capture in a photo but I've tried in one of the shots.
Mechanically the brakes and other mechanical components will obviously need full overhaul. the brake drums appear to be missing front and back.
In summary. a rare and sought after matching numbers TF for restoration.
This will make a magnificent example once completed. in my eyes this is the most attractive of all the T-series vehicles.
