I have three mercedes vehicles for sale here from my collection. I am selling these cars due to health changes that means my days of working on such cars has come to a close.

The three Mercedes W 123 vehicles are :

Unit 1. 300D Orange coloured 1979 about 350k

Unit 2. 230 Cream coloured 1979 about 215k

Unit 3. 280e Cream coloured 1981 about 370k

First I should say that all these cars are far to good to wreck and have virtually rust free solid bodies. Rust repairs are not required for any of the vehicles. Units 2 and 3 I have had up on a hoist and both are good orginal units. Unit 1 I have not had on a hoist but from what I have seen am confident that it also is a good unit. Now for each vehicle.

Unit 1. First 4 pictures. I obtained this from the family of the estate of the owner. I have been told that the owner drove it till it ran out of rego. Then parked it. His health dteriorated and it became part of his estate. It sat for many years outside until I collected it. When I collected the vehicle the brakes had seized. After pulling for a while they came free. It has stood for at about 10 years.

Though it has stood out in the weather the carpets were dry as was the boot! The body looks rust free to me (apart from some minor surface rust). This is inland NSW so no salt air.

I was told that the car was running till it ran out of rego and was parked. The motor still has the oil in it-no water. Given the time though before restarting I would suggest changing the oil and cleaning out the fuel pump and get the old diesel out of the fuel system. It would not hurt to spary some oil into the cylinders before starting.

Unit 2 (pictures 5 to 7) was again a NSW inland country car. No rust. It was registered when I bought it but I think it was cylinder 3 that was not working properly-burnt out valves by the sound/feel. Anyway I drove it home some 6 years ago from West Wyalong. Took the motor/gearbox out and dropped in a 300d motor/gearbox. I then had to do some other things and never got back to the job. The 300d motor has not been connected up to the rest of the car. I did this because I just bought the 300d motor.

The 300d motor was fitted to a rusted 300TD. The 300TD drove very well and was a 1 owner-it was the body that had rusted out. It was a coastal car. The 300d motor was bought new from Stuggart in a crate about 1998/99. It had some 100. 00 k on it when I bought it. A new radiator was also fitted to the car when the new motor was fitted. It is a superb 300d motor/radiator. I just needed a good body-thus the 230.

You may only want the 300d motor/radiator and not the 230-that is ok. make me an offer.

As you can see in the photo the front grill is missing. I have this somewhere and it is ok.

Unit 3(pictures 8 to 12) is a fantastic 280e with one problem-head gasket has gone. Water is in the oil. I have the whole history of this car. The owner spent a lot of money fixing up everything. When the head gasket went I think that after spending as much money as they did that just broke it and they wanted it gone. When I picked it up the motor started up no problems and I drove it onto the car trailer.

When I got it home I drained the oil/water and refilled with oil. Started it up no probelms but water went back into the oil. The motor sounded good and the car drove beautifully. I then turned the motor off and it has sat there for some 4/5 years.

The one thing you need to do with this car is fix the head gasket. Thousands were spent at MB Spares Canberra on the rest of the car-suspension. brakes. steering etc and it does drive well. I have all the receipts and details of all work done if interested.

I have all these units up for sale as a group buy at a very low price. If you are only intested in some part then drop me a line-I am open to offers on anything as it does need to go. My preference is to see them all ship out of here asap.

I also have heaps of parts for these vehicles about the property. The buyer(s) of the above can pick what they want at very low prices.

If you have any queries please drop me an email.
