FOR SALE : JDM 1985 AE86 TOYOTA SPRINTER TRUENO GT APEX


"Yeah! How come this car gets me fired up all the time? I wish that Toyota could make cars like this again!" exclaimed Keiichi Tsuchiya after decimating an R34 GTR in a downhill touge battle with nothing more than a nimble. tuned AE86. As a successful professional race car driver and ‘Drift King'. Tsuchiya always believed that “the most important thing is balance”. This car smashes that criterion to the moon and back.  

The AE86 sets the benchmark for the elusive affordable driver's car with its rear wheel drive configuration. lightweight chassis. 50:50 weight distribution and easy-to-tune 4A-GE twin cam engine. No wonder the AE86 has been immortalised as a legend in itself making it a true cult classic!

It's very hard to drive this car down the road without someone giving you the thumbs up! This nice panda example has 201. 00 genuine kilometres on the clock with a recent timing belt change at 182. 15 kms for added precaution. As you can see from the photos. the newly painted exterior really sets off the car beautifully.  It's packed with the following tasteful JDM modifications:

Jasma rated 4-2-1 headers Aftermarket exhaust and muffler Cusco adjustable suspension (height and camber) Cusco tower strut brace TRD ignition leads HID headlights Genuine 14" Watanabe alloy wheels Aftermarket air cleaner Yokohama Advan A050 semi-slick tyres Rear slotted disc brake rotors Lightweight Recaro racing seat

As with any 28 year old car it is not quite perfect as realiasticaly expected:

The passenger floor support has a dent (likely from bottoming out) Rear panel rusted (just inside rear bar and above fuel tank) The front guards have been renewed and look great Some rust repairs carried out around hatch The rear bar slightly buldges out on the sides. but is not damaged (most likely not fitted on right) Boot lid struts need to be re-gassed Door warning light sometimes flickers when driving

That said. the car presents and drives very well! Come and see for yourself. Cars in this overall condition are becoming very hard to find at Japanese auction houses. let alone landed here in Australia.
