This auction is for my exceedingly cute 1951 Standard Vanguard :)These are a rather unique little car. dinky toys made a miniature version back in the 50's that I had when I was a kid. and the little car always stuck with me. The engine is the same as a triumph TR2 sports car of  the same era. I purchased this car from a close friend who had it over 20 years. And was stored indoors the entire time. This car has just over 51. 00 miles. the interior is original with the exception of the front seat having been re-upholstered in the late 1990's. the exterior had a quality re-spray in red. although door jams and trunk were touched up later. Although the paint was done about 15 years ago. it is still very nice. with little to no wear or marks. there is a small spot on the lower drivers rocker which is bubbling. but not through (see picture)This car was a regular at all local British and classic car shows in AB and BC over the past 15 years. and was used on the Rocky Mountain 'Rally in the Valley' in 2003. from Alberta to British Columbia. and was a reliable car the whole trip. wide white walls by firestone. about 10 years old bias ply. but in good shape. chrome was redone. including front and rear bumper. hub caps and grill. Weather stripping is dry. Glass is all good. Fender skirts excellent. body is very solid. wipers. lights horn and even trafficators work well! I also have the original owners manual. and shop manual that will go along with it. these are hard to get and well worth having!car has come out of 5 years storage. and will need fresh oil etc. Starts right up and runs well. Sold as is due to age. the car has had some freshening. but is not a frame off restoration. in fact it is largely original. and as a result has some wear and tear from age.
just had the fuel pump cleaned and tanked. New fuel line to carb. and gas tank drained with new fuel. Car was insured in AB Canada! and will be sold with a. Bill of sale.
