Scootacar Mk1

Very rarely available 1960 Scootacar Mk 1. Originally sold new in South London YXY 639 ended its useful life in Scotland. The "Wilkinsons of Stockwell" dealer plaque still remains affixed to the N/S inner front closing panel. I have a receipt from 1974 for a sparkplug so it ran for 14 years in period. Car was in sound dry unmolested condition when discovered in Inverness.

This Mk 1 received a comprehensive and correct rebuild to the highest of standards some years ago. Some Scootacar parts are not the easiest to source but this machine is correct throughout.

The chassis was in excellent order. The flat steel floor was showing minor signs of deterioration so was properly replaced per the pic. The body received a high standard professional paint and has never been in a collision. All components were stripped. leaned. nspected and detailed.

This Scootacar is investment grade featuring all correct unique parts. LEP 12 wiper motor. Alloy NOS hubcaps. Engraved Fuel cap. Brochure/Handbook. Correct switchgear. extinct LEP rear lights/Bluemel refectors together with NOS Wipac headlamps. Michelin C's are fitted all round. The power unit was comprehensively rebuilt by Villiers services. The Lucas horn is also correct together with a fully overhauled front suspension with excellent kingpins. The unique ball joints have all been correctly rebuilt by an engineering shop.

The car was professionally stored for the last few years and was running when parked up. Scootacars are actually quite fast off the mark and the Villiers motor is considered bombproof if somewhat agricultural. The 197 cc motor is very cheap to repair compared to the KR 200 Sachs power unit.
