Current customer rating:
This bug is a 1967 with body and pan vin numbers in tact and matching. I am not in a rush to sell this car. so I do not minding sitting on it for as long as need be. The car was originally blue and the interior still is. however the outside was painted a matte black color. I have no idea how many original miles it has because the speedometer that is in it may not be the original one. The odometer reads 7 X. XX. but the previous owner gave me 2 other speedometers. so there is no telling how many miles are actually on the car. Yes I have the title and it is clean. It has a motor from either a 72 or 73 bug which is a 1600 DP. It leaks oil and it appears to be a good amount. however if you check the dip stick. it never really goes down (so I guess it just appears to leak a good amount but really isn't). When I say that it leaks oil. it might be a 1/4 quart of oil every week. maybe even week and a half. I feel that the leak is coming from one of the push tubes on the passenger side. but I have not put the car on a lift to check. All electricals work (minus the stock radio (unhooked because AM sucks in my town) and washer switch (switch has cracked seals)). Has a grey interior (seats). Has no front shocks (needed in order to go low).
Parts that the car has:
-Custom wooden interior done by a local building contractor (headliner. door panels. door handles. sun visors. back storage strip)
-Wooden beer tap from a bar mounted to the e-brake
-Aftermarket radio in glovebox w/ 2 speakers in back storage area
-scat shifter
-wire cover in front trunk
-new horn (aftermarket)
-lowered with drop spindles and a narrowed beam (new beam. tie rods. etc) (rear is lowered by the torsion bar. which is several clicks down from stock)
-new hubs (front)
-new master cylinder
-new carpet
-kill switch under back seat (to make sure that no power is running when the car is off)
-new battery/coil/regulator/spark plugs/wires/generator (the one pictured is old. there is a new black one there now)/choke
-aftermarket intake filter
-carb freshly rebuilt & gas tank/lines cleaned
-new tires
There are probably more things. but I can't remember them at the time. Everything is pretty much there. The car is garage kept. I do not daily drive it. but it is fully capable of being a daily driver.
The bad:
-Rust of course (heater channels. bottom of driver side door area. back seat floor panel area (I recommend that you patch this area. but it isn't 100% necessary). spare tire tray area (not bad though). The common areas)
-Oil leak (mentioned above)
-Doesn't get as good of gas mileage as it should (it's old. give it some slack)
-Bouncy ride since it's lowered
-rear shocks could be blown. but not sure-back driver tire has an air leak (from the valve stem)-The canisters that connect the motor to the heater channels are not there-small dents/dings/paint scratches/paint nicks in various areas. Nothing crazy though.
Know that I am available for any and all questions. so feel free to ask anything. Everything that I can think of has been listed. but there could be other things that I am forgetting. If you are in need of more pictures. I have plenty. just ask what you want pics of.
I may also consider trades. you can message me with any offers.
