I bought this classic AZ truck via e Bay in 2002. and it has lived in my WA garage since then. A local auto restorer calls it the most rust-free old truck he's ever seen – you can still see shiny new metal up between the pickup walls. (Reportedly the 1950 Stude 2 R was the first US truck with a double-walled bed. ) It has been lightly used -- a reliable street or country-road vehicle. but not a freeway runner. It is a perfect light hauler the bed carries 4 x 8 sheets flat. but you'll need to plan extra time at the lumber yard to jaw with jealous truck admirers….

A previous owner had the truck professionally repainted inside and out.

It has the original 6-cylinder straight-line engine. 3-speed transmission on the column. no overdrive.

It was completely re-wired in 2006 to 12 v. with breakers. re-wound Stude starter. new alternator. and new heater motor. The new classic "vintage" instruments match the original Stude horn cap in Tuscan Ivory color. The old odometer showed 56. 00 miles when replaced new one now shows 1. 70 miles. The interior has fairly new tan upholstery. carpet. & headliner. The engine is clean and was re-painted in 2006. The radiator was re-cored in 2007. and a new thermostat and exhaust pipe installed.

Otherwise the truck has mostly original Studebaker equipment.

Sale includes a complete 2 R Series manual on a CD.
