STUDEBAKER V8 PICKUP HOTROD RATROD for sale
Current customer rating: (433 votes ) based onHi there fellow truck fans
Where to start i purchased this truck of a good friend june 2012 . nd since july 2012 has been my daily drive
MOT/TAX EXEMPT 1959 TRUCK
3 speed on colom
RIGHT HAND DRIVE built for Grenada nr argentina then at a few years old it ended up in canada for a few years then exported to africa (info i was given by a guy in the states when i was checking spares availability )
the truck had running issues when i collected it ( fuel pump or carb ??? )couldnt be botherd to work out which one so i thought F--K it and made a new inlet to take a semi modern carb and fitted a new high flow pump and regulator
Now it ran really well but a previous owner had fited a ford p100 rear axle for its load carrying capabilitys trouble was the ratio was 5. 6 to 1 . it exclerated like a porche but ran out of steam very quickly --- so luckily for me the p100 uses an atlas axle with swapable diffs - so in went a capri one at 3. 009 ratio now it drives in all traffic with ease and is at motorway speeds with a lot left:)
NOW I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK WITH THE INTENTION OF SWAPING ALL OF THE RUNNING GEAR FOR FOUR WHEEL DRIVE
I mention this because all of the bushes in the leaf springs have seen better days
speedo cable is broken
It was never fitted with a heater ( i use large coat and gloves )
The truck has rust in places all over . nothing near the door pillars has a great pattina all over
NOW FOR THE REASON FOR SALE-- AS MENTIONED I NEVER INTENDED TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK AS IS i was going to fit the engine gearbox axles and springs out of my white truck (in pics) to combine my love of rockabilly - 4x4s to make a very usefull work truck
But driveing the stude low down it looks the dogs gonnads . and you dont see HALF A DOZEN at rockin gigs or shows like the commen ford or chevy (sorry guys)
This truck deserves to be left un attacked by me -and i CANT justifiy TWO trucks anymore i:( i need a 4x4 for my work ) and have a few other toys aswell
A FRIEND HAS A 1930S TRUCK ROLLING SHELL FOR SALE AT THE MO which will suit my convertion better . BUT IF HIS SELLS B4 MINE I WILL REMOVE MINE . And use my truck for the convertion . im going to start mine at what will buy it so dont bother ringing with any offers
There are a couple of pics in there of what i was planing or you could achive
Any more info please call 07727689333 trev .
feel free to come see it and i will take you for a test drive
this might be shorter than I thought as the other truck I want has someone comeing to see it wednesday
