This 1955 International Harvester was the recipient of a complete frame off restoration just two years ago. This original Southwest truck had a solid original body making it an excellent candidate for restoration. The truck was featured in the April edition of the Hemmings Motor New "Pickups" calendar. It is also the recipient of an AACA Junior award.

The truck features the original straight six engine which has been rebuilt along with the column-shift 3-speed and correct rear end. The engine compartment is highly detailed and showcases the power plant nicely. Of course. all the lines and hoses are new as well and the radiator has been re-cored. The motor starts right up and warms up nicely after minute of running. These were not high horsepower vehicles. but the truck pulls well through all the gears up to about a 55 MPH max cruising speed.

The brakes and suspension were completely refreshed when the chassis was stripped to have it blasted and repainted. The chassis is now re-sprayed in a nice coat of black. and the the truck drives as well as it did when it was new.

The paint is now a two stage base/clear and has a nice shine and hand finish to it. All trim on the truck has been refinished and the interior has been restored as well.

Everyone has a 3100. but to find an International Harvester restored like this one is a rare thing.
