Beautifully restored 1967 VW Beetle in excellent condition with a factory sunroof and push out rear wing windows. An original, rust free Southern California car, up until 2 years ago when I purchased it and had shipped to South Carolina, where it's been driven under 300 miles to car shows and for personal pleasure. The previous owner purchased the car in 2006, from West Coast Restorations in Fullerton California. The car was restored in the early 2000's, and remains in excellent condition throughout. The paint, chrome, bright work and interior are in show condition. I've checked the body with a soft magnet throughout, with NO evidence of any bondo repair. The under carriage is rust free and near as nice as the top end. The car does leak a few drops of oil at the lower oil change cover (very minimal, but I want a possible buyer to be aware...again...very minor). The car is as nice, if not better, in person, than it shows in photos. When I got the car, and as clean as the engine was... there were a few items that were correct, but not authentic German parts. I found and rebuilt an original German 105.1 carburetor, a correct German Pierburg fuel pump, a correct rebuilt generator with proper spade connectors, a German 205K distributor and a correct numbered short Bosch coil. I rebuilt the distributor with new bushings, points, condenser and cap. All 4 spark plugs were replaced. The oil was changed. The car starts, idles, runs, shifts and drives as a 67 VW should. The car stops as it should with mechanical breaks. The steering is tight, and it tracks straight, with no pulling or wandering on 4 new matching tires of proper size and specs. The car is very tight with no rattles or mechanical noises. The sunroof operates flawlessly, as do all the windows, with no leaks. The doors open and close with excellent reveals. All the electrical related components work... The headlights, hi/low beam. Break lights. Turn signals (on occasion, the turn signal lever will not stay engaged, but the turn signals work, if manually engaged). Backup lights. License plate light. Interior courtesy light. Dash lights /with dimmer. Emergency flashers. Fuel gauge. Radio (am only w/ very few reception stations). Wipers. Horn. The speedometer and odometer work as they should. The heater works, but I've never used it. The forward trunk contains an original jack, spare tire and windshield washer reservoir (not connected to the spare), and is in excellent condition. I submitted the chassis number, body number and engine number to Volkswagen Classic Parts in Wolfsburg, Germany. I received a certificate, certifying that all numbers are correct to the car, based on VIN 117044006. Also certified as a 1500 Sedan with sliding sun roof, L639 Zenith Blue, Black leatherette interior, hinged rear side windows, manufactured on Aug. 10,1966 and delivered on Aug. 26,1966. This birth certificate and receipts for all replaced parts and services and the original owners manual will be forwarded with the purchase. This car is virtually stock with no modifications except for the addition of shoulder seat belts for the front seats and lap belts in the rear. Without over stating the condition, quality and authenticity of the car, I've tried to describe the car in an honest way, to the best of my ability. If possible...I strongly suggest personally inspecting the car, or having a professional verify the car. I personally wouldn't hesitate to sell the car sight unseen, with the confidence of the purchaser being pleased with the car...It's a beautiful piece. Anyone that is familiar the VW market knows that a 67 is considered the holly grail of bugs. This is an investment quality car that will continue go up in value if taken care of. This car is being sold "as is", with no warranty whatsoever. I will assist in helping with shipping by bringing the car to a location that will make loading the car as simple as possible. I would not recommend picking up this car and traveling any substantial distance...it is a 54 year old car, and too nice to be possibly caught in bad weather. The car will not be cleared for pickup or shipping until payment in full has been received and all funds have been cleared. A $5000 deposit within 36 hrs. of the sale will be required to bind the sale, with full payment due within 5 days. Do not bid if your not prepared to buy the car. All negative feedback bidders will be exempt. Bid to buy. Additional photos and information can be provided to serious buyers if requested.
