1932 BSA Special Sports Trike

This vehicle is being re listed due to the original listing title containing the names of two other car manufacturers

which is against EBay policy.

This 1932 BSA 'Special Sports' trike in good condition and powered by a lusty OHV Hotchkiss designed vee twin engine of 1021cc. As far as I know all mechanical components are correct and original for this model. This is an older restoration maintained in good condition and in running order. This car is fitted with the attractive vee windscreen which adds so much style to this model.

The BSA trike that was first introduced in 1929 was a milestone car in that it combined front wheel drive and independent front suspension in a popular priced car. Upgrades include a conversion to 12 volts. a high output dynamo plus an electric windscreen wiper and flashing indicators as an aid to safety. All tyres are good with the spare unused. The excellent interior is upholstered in black leather cloth and vinyl edged red nylon carpet. Front springs are protected against dirt and dust by black gaiters stitched in red to match the rest of the cars colour scheme. The car has had all oil levels checked and has fresh oil in the sump. Power is transmitted via a sweet cork lined clutch that runs in oil and an easy to use three speed and reverse crash gearbox. The handling of this car is as good as any BSA trike that I have ever driven. Damping is effected by adjustable friction shock absorbers. The front brake has recently been re lined and will need bedding in. Manual ignition advance has been retained that is operated by a steering column lever. All dashboard instruments are in working order. The car still retains its original valuable registration number on the V5c document. The car comes with a hood. side screens. tonneau cover plus starting handle and wheel brace. This model is accepted by the VSCC for club events. Technical and spares backup is provided by the old established (1959) and friendly BSA FWD Club that organises rallies and club events throughout the year.

Four files are with the car containing a copy of the drivers handbook. various articles concerning this car plus the model in general. A full BSA restoration manual plus reams of other technical information.

BSA trikes needing restoration have changed hands on EBay for £8500! These desirable vee twin Special Sports models are not available very often so grab your self a bargain while you can.

This car causes a huge amount of interest wherever it goes.

The car is of course MOT and road tax exempt and qualifies for cheap classic car insurance.

Only bidders with at least ten positive feedbacks can bid. Overseas bidders are welcome but you must conduct your bidding through a UK based agent or contact. The reason for this is that my bank makes a high charge for accepting cheques in anything but British Sterling currency and clearance can take some time. Your inspection of the car is encouraged and welcome prior to bidding. This will include a warm welcome and a cup of tea or coffee plus a test ride. Contact me via the 'question' facility and I will send my telephone number to you. You are bidding to buy. not to haggle. A £100 non returnable deposit must be paid via PayPal within two hours of the auction finishing. The car must be paid for and removed within two weeks of the auction finishing. Payment must be either by cheque. cash on collection or by direct transfer of funds to my bank (preferred). The car will not be released until either cash is in my hand or cleared funds are in my bank account. This car is only being sold to make space in my garage for an Edwardian project. A video is on Youtube which gives a walk round inspection and a road test plus drive by.
