1981 Jeep CJ

1981 Jeep CJ 7 304 V 8 with Rare automatic Transmission. I am selling this Jeep for my dad and it has been in our family since 1993 and was original purchased for use on a country property. It was used to drive the property periodically until about 2005 when the land was sold. Since then, it was used at a lake property to launch the boat and occasional drives. It has always been stored inside, never used in the mud, and well cared for since we purchased.The body is solid and rust free, as far as i know. The undercarriage is solid also, as shown in the pictures. It runs, drives, and stops. The 4 wheel drive works. The tires are about 15 years old and while they look good, they should be replaced.Previous owner did put about 2 inches of lift on the springs. The Jeep has new Warn front hubs. The rear end was completely rebuilt with flange axles. The steering box is a Redhead unit. Exhaust is new aluminized duals. Equipped with Custom Fabrication Twin Stick transfer case shifter Front and rear receiver hitches, rebuilt rear end with flange axles, and a Redhead steering box.Has AMC 304 V 8. Previous owner removed emission equipment. Engine runs ok but could stand a tuneup. Has recently new timing cover and oil pump. Oil pressure is within specs. Timing chain was inspected when timing cover replaced. Dry and cold compression test found all cylinders at 115-120.Radio and heater are removed, but heater unit included in sale. Spare tire carrier included in sale but not attached to Jeep.Jeep is brush painted green. It looks great from 30 feet away, but it is brush painted. Seats have been replaced. This Jeep is in very solid condition. Lots of mechanical parts have been serviced, rebuilt, or replaced over the years and have seen limited service since installed. The previous owner told us the mileage reflected was less than 100 K, however, I have no idea if that is actually the case. I have described this Jeep as honestly as I can. It is a 40 year old vehicle and is not perfect. There are no warranties or guaranties. Sale is as is where is and is final. Shipping is the buyers responsibility to arrange. Vehicle will not be released until payment funds clear my bank. I recommend any potential buyer contact me to arrange to inspect the vehicle. My preferred way of handling payment is to go to a local bank with the buyer and have them draw a bank check in front of me so we are both protected. Other options are wire transfer or cash.
