Rare 1964 Plymouth Barracuda V8 four-speed project. I bought this intending to make it into a historic race car to FIA Appendix K spec, but health issues mean I can't race anymore and as a result I've lost enthusiasm for the project, and now I have workshop space issues, so is being listed with no reserve. I have done a lot of work to date, including fitting new floors and reinforcing the torsion bar mounts, K frame and LCAs in the manner of the original factory racers. The engine is not the car's original, but is a correct 1964 model year 273 (4.5l) V8 that comes fitted with an aftermarket Holley two barrel carb. The engine was taken from a good-running Valiant belonging to another member of the Mopar Muscle Association and fitted complete with the radiator and dizzy. (It is of course possible to fit small block Mopar engines of over 7 litres which would make this comparatively light car seriously fast.)The car is correctly registered as a 1964 car with the correct engine number. The chassis number has been confirmed by the Mopar Muscle Association to show the car to be an original V8 manual. It is registered in my name with Nova completed etc. Historic car, MoT and tax exempt. Comes with two brand new high quality number plates from Tippers (see pics). As can be seen in the pictures, the car is missing bumpers and a number of trim parts but the auction does include many parts to help with completing it that I have listed below. I have collected some other parts specific to making it into a race car (to homologation number 1331) and will hang onto them to offer them for sale to the buyer before listing them. The car is a manual steer, manual brakes car so ideal spec for a circuit or drag racer. It has been fitted with a dual master cylinder but needs some brake lines to complete. Most of the braking system is new parts fitted by a previous owner, but may require cylinder rubbers to be replaced because the car has been sitting a while. It has the V8-spec suspension and drum brake set up with 14in steel wheels. The tyres hold air but are too old for use on the road.Parts that come with the car:The dash is there as shown but is missing the gauge panel - I found a '65 gauge cluster that I was going to adapt to fit which I will include.NEW windscreen and rubber (specific to early A bodies, expensive!) - not fittedAll glass is there, though missing some trim. All lights, new headlights but buckets need adapting. Grille has been repaired and repainted but looks good.Stock steering wheel.Pair of Sixties-style bucket seatsNew Cherry Bombs and piping and bends to make dual side exit exhausts£500 of NEW parts: suspension bushes (mostly poly), ball joint and rod end boots, new camber bolts, Moog offset bushes to allow for negative camber and increased castor, speedo and handbrake cables, front shocks, brake cylinder kits and hoses, and many more.NOS rear shocksNEW Remote oil filter set upWill throw in my Mopar books and manuals with the car.The car will need to be collected from Camberwell, South London. The auction will run to the end, so no offers or buy it now. Let me know if you want to come to view it - can only be evenings or weekend.
