Up for sale is my 1969 Pontiac Firebird. This is not a numbers matching car or a high dollar restoration. It was built as a "resto mod" car, with options and alterations that were commonly done on these cars in the 1970's, plus a couple of modern additions.     It started life as a Firebird 350 with a standard transmission, but now has a 400ci engine and TH400 automatic transmission. Total mileage is unknown. It has a tilt wheel, console, and differential from a mid 70's Omega, Also added was a 2500 rpm torque converter, headers, front disc brakes, and an Edelbrock intake with a new Holley 4160 carburetor with electric choke. There's enough chrome under the hood to be interesting, but not excessive. The radiator is a new aluminum unit with an electric fan. The engine and transmission are internally  unmodified and although not completely leak free it runs and drives well.  The drivers rear frame rail was replaced as well as floor pans and rear quarters. A lot of the exterior trim, emblems and marker lights were deleted, giving the car a smooth uncluttered exterior. The chrome on the front and rear bumpers was blacked out, as were the headlight rings. Carpets and door / trunk gaskets are new. It rides on a set of new Ion aluminum wheels with 60 series Coopers in the back, 70's on the front. In resto-mod style, it has traction bars, Thrush welded mufflers and dual exhaust with a crossover pipe. It has power door locks with remote as well as an alarm system and a remote trunk control. Traction bars give it the resto mod look, and coil over shocks in the rear give it that slightly high in the back stance that was a must have in the muscle car heyday.   Last year I finally get this together and in paint. I finished it late in the summer, put it on the road and had some fun last fall and this spring and summer. I enjoy working on them more than I do driving them. The trim isn't perfect, but the car shows nicely, drives well and is within the reach of somebody that had one of these as a teenager and wished they didn't get rid of it. This is affordable, drive-able and can be enjoyed as-is or altered to the buyer's tastes without the worry of ruining an all original car. Its high and low points are factored into the reserve price, and I think it is fair in today's market. The prices of these cars has soared in the last few years. This is something you can drive as is, improve if you want, and sell in a year or two for a profit. Currently on the road, registered in my name. The car is for sale locally, and on other online platforms so the auction may end early. A $500 deposit is due at auction's end or if the "buy it now" option is selected. Full payment is due within 7 days. Placing the winning bid obligates you to purchase the vehicle, don't bid unless you are serious about buying. I would suggest looking at the car in person if possible or hiring someone to do so before bidding. This car is sold as-is. Transport is the buyers responsibility. I will be available to help get the car loaded. Thanks for your interest.
