1962 Daimler SP250 Dart

Relisted following an error in my original listing. Up for auction is my matching numbers 1962 B spec Daimler Dart, a vehicle I imported from the US a few years ago and dry stored since it's arrival. This vehicle was last on the road in 1973!Originally painted in royal red with a black leather trim with the seats and the door trims piped in red. The first owner specified heater and de-mister, leather covered steering wheel ( still present!), an adjustable steering column, chrome plated exhaust pipe finishers, cigarette lighter, Horvall full sized wheel discs, white wall tyres and both hard and soft tops in black. Front and rear bumpers were also factory fitted. With all of the above fitted when new the car is closer to the C spec introduced in 1963.As you can see, the car is no longer royal red, although traces of it remain. The original paint was removed by the previous owner in prep for a restoration that did not proceed due to age and ill health. This does make the Dart look rather tatty but on the upside, the fibreglass bodywork is in very good condition with good shut lines. I can see no evidence of accident damage. It would also appear to have not been the subject of multiple repaints like so many Darts. The car is complete bar the carpets and door trims. Most of the chrome has been removed but comes with the car. The seats are removed as is one of gauges but there are with the car.  The bolt on longitudinal outriggers fitted to the later Darts are rusty and will need replacement but these are available from specialist suppliers. The engine bay is very dusty but complete bar the radiator which has been removed but comes with the car.The Daimler 2.5 litre V8 engine is original to the vehicle, and is complete and free. I was provided with a video of it running prior to my purchase via a jerry rigged fuel supply. The car is currently fitted with TR6 wheels that give it a more muscular stance but I can supply a set of standard steels if required. Comes complete with factory hard top in need of repair and an original soft top.The car will be supplied with a NOVA letter in my name stating that all taxes and duties have been paid and hence a V5 can be applied for.Only 2654 Darts were produced so this is an opportunity to own something a little more unusual and of course, nothing beats the sound of the Daimler V8!The Dart is located near Boston Lincs and it will role freely for collection. Transport within the UK at a reasonable price can also be arranged. Reason for sale - I am on the home stretch of another restoration and have other projects to work on but limited time.No part exchanges please.
