THIS V8 HAS JUST BEEN RECOMMISIONED AFTER A 13 YEAR SLEEP. ROFESSIONALY AWOKEN BY LOCAL MG APPROVED WORKSHOP. NEW MOT WITH NO ADVISORIES AND READY FOR A NEW OWNER TO ENJOY IMMEDIATLY.

THIS V8 HAS HAD EXTENSIVE MECHANICAL WORK DONE PRIOR TO ITS LAY UP. ITH AN ENGINE REBUILD. LONG WITH GEARBOX OVERHAUL. ND OVERDRIVE OVERHAUL. HE IS IN EXCELLENT MECHANICAL HEALTH. ANY NEW PARTS WERE FITTED AS I WILL TRY AND DETAIL IN THE FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION.

BODYWORK.

THE STRUCTURE OF THIS V8 IS EXCELLENT. LOOR'S SILLS CHASSIS RAILS ARE ALL EXCEELENT AS ARE THE INNER WINGS AND BOOT FLOOR. XTERNALLY. HE V8 HAS BEEN REPAINTED AT SOME POINT IN ITS DISTANT PAST AND HAS BEEN DONE TO A RESONABLE STANDARD. HERE ARE SIGNS OF AGEING NOW TO MAINLY THE BOTTOM OF THE DOORS WHICH HAVE RUSTED. ND THE ONE REAR SEAM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS SOME RUST STARTING TO BUBBLE THROUGH. HERE IS A DENT AT THE TOP OF THE DRIVERS DOOR AND ONE HALF WAY DOWN THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE FRONT WING MEETS THE DOOR. HIS IS LIGHT AND IS ON BOTH PANELS. LL THESE DENTS WOULD COME OUT EASILY. HE PAINT HAS A GOOD SHINE BUT IS NOW OLD AND THERE ARE VARIOUS CHIPS AND SCUFFS. OTHING HORRIBLE. G IS STILL VERY PRESENTABLE. HROME IS ALL VERY GOOD. A GLASS SUNROOF IS FITTED AND DOES NOT LEAK. HIS V8 CAN BE USED AS IS FOR YEARS. HEN TIDYED UP AT A LATER DATE.   

INTERIOR.

VERY TIDY INSIDE. ARPETS ARE VERY GOOD AND HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT SOME POINT WITH RED EDGED ONES. HE DOOR PANELS HAVE ALSO BEEN REPLACED IN A SIMILAR STYLE. OOR TOPS ARE EXCELLENT. EATS ARE ALL VERY GOOD. ASH IS ALL GOOD. LL GAUGES WORK AND LIGHT UP. ND ALL SWITCHES WORK. ND MOST IMPORTANTLY THE HEATER AND BLOWER WORK. EADLINING IS GOOD. LL GLASS IN GOOD ORDER. HE GIGARETTE LIGHTER IS UNUSED AND ASHTRAY LOOKS UNUSED. NTERIOR LIGHT ALSO WORKS. A NICE TIDY INTERIOR THAT REQUIRES NOTHING.

MECHANICALY.

PRIOR TO BEING TAKEN OF THE ROAD IN 2000. N 1999. UCH WORK WAS DONE. NGINE REBUILD. EW BEARINGS. ISTONS. EADS RE DONE. EW CAM AND TIMMING GEAR. EW CLUTCH. EARBOX OVERHAUL. VERDRIVE UNIT OVERHAUL. EW RADIATOR. EW STAINLESS EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND TWIN BOX DOUBLE S EXHAUST. HICH IS NOT NOISY AND LOOKS LIKE A STANDARD SYSTEM. EW PETROL TANK AND SENDER. EW BRAKE SERVO NEW MASTER CYLINDER. LL IGNITION PARTS REPLACED. TARTER MOTOR OVERHAULED. ARBS REBUILT. EW REAR KONI CLASSIC TELESCOPIC REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS. EW AUTO TYPE SEAT BELTS. XN AIR FILTERS. ND NEW BUMPERS AND OVERIDERS FITTED. RAKE LINES ARE COPPER. NEW REAR U BOLTS AND RUBBERS FITTED ALONG WITH NEW BUMP STOPS. HERE ARE DUNLOP TYRES FITTED ALL ROUND WHICH ARE STILL AS NEW WITH NO AGEING PRESENT AND ARE H RATED. 85/70/14 IN SIZE. THE V8 HAS BEEN RECOMMISIONED BY A SPECIALIST WHICH INVOLVED FREEING OF THE CLUTCH WHICH WAS THE REASON V8 CAME OFF THE ROAD. FTER ALL THAT TIME AND EXPENCE LITTLE USE CAUSED THE NEW CLUTCH TO STICK SO IN FRUSTRATION THE MG WAS PUT IN THE GARAGE LOCKED AWAY IN SHAME! ANYWAY. HE CLUTCH FREED AFTER A 10 MILE DRIVE IN THE COUNTRY. ND VARIOUS HOSES AND OILS HAVE BEEN CHANGED. ARBS CLEANED OUT. EW FRONT PADS FITTED STICKY BRAKE PISTON FREED OF. ND A THOROUGH CHECK OVER INCLUDING AXLE AND GEARBOX OIL LEVELS DONE. EW IGNITION PARTS FITTED. NEW 12V BATTERY IS FITTED INSTEAD OF THE 2 ORIGINAL 6V BATTERIES.  AND THOROUGHLY ROAD TESTED. HE MILEAGE WHEN THE ENGINE WAS REBUILT WAS 84924. O THIS V8 NEEDS DRIVING CAREFULLY TO RUN IT ALL IN AGAIN. OVERDRIVE WORKS A TREAT. ND SHE DRIVES VERY WELL. EELING POWERFULL. ITH A NICE GEARCHANGE. ND QUIET REAR AXLE. RAKES DISPITE HAVING NEW CORRECT PADS ARE EXCELLENT. V8 HAS GOOD OIL PRESSURE AND MAINTAINS A STEADY WATER TEMP ABOUT 1/3 UP THE GAUGE. ANS CUT IN AND OUT CORRECTLY. V8 WAS DRY STORED IN A VERY NICE DRY GARAGE FOR ITS SLUMBER AND ALL PARTS FITTED ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

LARGE HISTORY FILE ACCOMPANIES V8. LL INVOICES FOR ENGINE AND GEARBOX OVERDRIVE ETC. LL OTHER ITEMS FITTED HAVE INVOICES. OME OLD MOT'S. LD V5 LOG BOOKS. PARE KEYS.

A VERY NICE VERY EARLY FACTORY V8 WHICH HAS THE BENEFIT OF BEING TAX EXEMPT NEXT YEAR. WILL NEED SOME BODYWORK AS TIME GOES BY BUT VERY PRESENTABLE AND VERY USEABLE AS IS. WITH THE BENEFIT OF ALL THAT MECHANICAL WORK DONE. HE SHOULD PROVE RELIABLE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
