Ricky Nelson bought this new 1963 Avanti from Coventry Motors at 9334 Wilshire Blvd. in Beverley Hills, CA and was shipped on October 20, 1962. This is the first time for sale in decades. This car was stripped to bare glass then painted the wrong color from an owner who enjoyed Corvette yellow. The car was originally Avanti Gold. The car has received many upgrades such as professionally rebuilt motor and transmission 5 K ago. Most components from Avanti Parts & Restorations from Morrisville, PA. such as new leaf springs, front coils springs, 4 new shocks, 4 new Diamondback radial bias looking G 70 X 15 tires with 1" whitewall. Rebuilt master cylinder & power brake booster, new correct fuel pump & 2 NOS mufflers on a new stainless exhaust system. Solid lifters set recently and front end alignment. All brakes have been done as well and new 3 EEE battery. All signals, headlights, backup lights, P.W. work along with gages except radio, clock and A/C. All complete with nothing missing. I was over the top when I had the chance to buy such a piece of history owned by such a rock legend. I never missed an episode of his show when I was a kid. I hate the fact I have to sell it but I do. I will cover shipping costs anywhere in North America or Europe. It's a strong runner but not a show car and deserves to be Avanti Gold again.
