Approx. Build Date: 1988-04 Exterior
Leather - Beige (275)
Like new power delivery and transmission shifts
100% Original. The only part that is not original is the new Weather Tech floor mats I installed in the footwells and trunk. My daughter is an equestrian. Muddy boots and shoes are typical and do not go well with the beige interior with the rain in Seattle, WA.
The vehicle is parked in my garage at home.
I detailed the vehicle inside and out. Inside I removed all the seats, washed the carpets, cleaned and treated the leather. I ordered the exact exterior color (Nautical Blue Metallic - 929 U)
and touched up all the small rock chips with three layers of paint and clearcoat. I hand washed the car using a CLAY BAR to remove all old stains and then brought the color back to its natural depth and shine using a Griot's soft compound and Griot's rotary polisher.
Sunroof (tilt and slide) fully operational. I did not remove the sunroof, but I did lubricate the tracks with WD 40.
All four windows are fully operational. I lubricated the back window mechanisms with WD 40. I have not had time to do the front windows. They all roll up and down perfectly with no screeching or delay.
All interior lights and switches are fully operational.
Back headrests retract with the dash-mounted switch.
Electronic seats, headrest, and memory settings are fully operational.
Telescoping steering wheel fully operational
Work completed since I took ownership of the vehicle:
Complete 1062
miles
since taking ownership in June 2021
Flushed and replaced all fluids
Replaced cylinder head gasket and valve adjustment. Full-service details and parts replaced listed on receipts included. Done 448 miles
since replaced
New fan clutch (receipts included)
New battery and alternator (receipts included)
Idle Control Valve cleaned.
DIY muffler seal. The exhaust pipe going into the muffler has two small holes. I temporarily fixed it with muffler tape to remove the soft 'sputter' of gas escaping through them. It works for now and is not critical, but ultimately I would have replaced this section of the exhaust (if possible)
The above is all work I completed on the vehicle, plus the mechanical work I had done by a specialized Mercedes Benz technician here in Seattle, WA.
These are items I would have done if I kept the vehicle. The technician has quoted some, and others are what I believe should be done based on my research:
Replace all four shock absorbers
Service fuel injection system. The motor runs beautifully but is not 100% smooth at idle. I removed and cleaned the Idle Control Valve, which improved the idling but can still be improved some more.
The suspension right lower ball joint is worn and needs replacement.
Lower arm bushings need replacement.
Service cruise control. The system dis-engaged automatically twice during freeway cruising. It is fully operational, but some inconsistencies. Driver seat-belt handler no working. I ordered a replacement on e Bay, but when I tried to install it the AC blows strong but not cold. Still the original AC unit. I believe it needs conversion to a more updated system to be refilled.
This is the complete picture of what the new owners will purchase from me and is represented truthfully and entirely to the best of my knowledge.
