1971 Saab Sonett 2 Seat

This Saab Sonnett is a special restoration, I have never owned such a head-turner which gets "Thumbs Ups" constantly and I have owned over 50 cars! Two vehicles were used in the restoration, I purchased in March 2020 from a West Coast enthusiast who has restored several unique classics turning them into automobile art. Unfortunately my garage space will be taken over by a brand new vehicle soon so this beauty needs a new home. I have kept in top condition, driving during summer months in dry weather, I have only driven about 400 miles since I purchased. This is a rare car, people are always asking "what is that" sometimes folks drive along side of me to ask from their cars or motorcycles! Rebuilt stock V-4 1.7 litre engine & 4 speed transmission, new clutch & clutch master cylinder. New copper core 2-row radiator - runs cool. Pertronix electronic ignition, electric fan, complete brake system overhaul that includes calipers, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, pads, shoes & hardware kits. New bearings both front and rear. Complete suspension restoration and new shocks, front and rear. New engine & transmission mounts, all new belts, hoses, filter etc.New complete exhaust system from headpins to tips - great sounding! Five original Saab Soccerball wheels with new tires. Dynamics's-mat underlayment on entire interior of the car, full custom carpet set for interior and trunk area. Interior has been restored with quality materials for seats, door panels, headliner etc. Fantastic Restrosound stereo system with Bluetooth custom 6x9 rear speakers and 4 inch front speakers. New chrome OEM style sport mirrors and optional fog-light upgrade installed. The following Jack Ashcroft Saab parts have been installed: Complete rear trunk pan kit which makes this Saab a completely rust-free car. Complete weatherstripping seal kit for entire car. Stainless steel hood door reinforcements and hood & hatch cable assemblies. Installed "transmission saver kit" & "reverse lock-out kit" an upgrade necessity for these cars! Currently registered and inspected with a clear title in New Hampshire. Odometer shows 41,570 miles but cannot be verified as actual. Build records, complete build manuals, radio manual, photos of restoration process and an original Saab brochure all included as well as many spare parts (see photo) and a smart phone arm (see photo) which I use a digital speedometer app as the original speedometer jumps around. The pictured chairs and cooler are also included which are perfect for car shows, I did one show (mainly an American show) but the Sonnett got lots of attention and was photographed by attendees often - it was really a show stopper! Original owner stated that the restoration cost was well over $20,000, but what's most important to me is that this goes to an enthusiast who appreciates it fully and will be a worthy curator to guide her into the future - low reserve price.
