1987 Mercedes-Benz 560 SELCabernet Red Mettalic Palomino Leather Interior 11,204 Two Owner Miles Always Stored Never Seen Rain Never Seen Direct Sunlight Cars like these very rarely come along in this condition or with these miles anymore. I see maybe one every few years, and this car is absolutely a prime example and I'm sure this car won't last a day on here. I'm sure someone will buy it and put it on Ba T and make 30% on it, but with the several month backlog currently on Ba T...that is ok by me. The story of this car is a interesting one. It was purchased new by a very affluent gentleman from Northern Michigan, who spent 11 months out of the year in the UK, and a month in the winter in Michigan. Obviously, because the car wasn't "allowed" out in the winter, it candidly didn't get driven. It was stored in a climate controlled car collection since new. It was titled back in 1987, but was never registered. It was started and exercised...far less frequently than it should have, and by the time it was sold it 2013, it had less than 1,000 miles on the clock...and never had a set of license plates on it. In 2014, these cars really weren't worth much, but with being a basically brand new car...it was a valuable car then. The car was completely gone through in 2013-2014 to bring it up to a level of reliability commensurate with its' looks and condition. There is about 50 service records on the car...a few when the car was new, but the vast majority of the records are for the recomissioning done in 13-14. This included belts, hoses, gaskets, brake caliper overhauls, a new radiator, tires, all fluids changed, so on and so forth. I believe the aggregate of these receipts total $12,000 or so. Since then the car has been driven about 800 miles a year and is completely sorted. The SEL has been collector owned since then, and still truly shows as a "as delivered" car. The seats have always been covered, a set of floor mats put on top a set of dealer installed mats on top of another set...so the carpets still show perfectly. As you can imagine the spare has never been out of the trunk, the keys to the car still sit on the original selling dealers sales tag. the plastic is still on some of the veneers. Absolutely everything works, the car is 100% rust free, and devoid of any paint work. I can go from this to that and talk about the car, but the answer to every statement would be "as new". The car is "as new"...nothing else to say...it comes with all the original books, keys, maintenance book, etc. The only piece of documentation I do NOT have is the window sticker. I have EVERYTHING else. I have been collecting these cars for well over 20 years, know them inside and out. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. This car is for sale on other venues besides e Bay, and this auction can and will be immediately ended on account of a private sale, which I can guarantee will be the immediate case here.
